Update: Injury allows Rondell White time with expectant wife

QjrrloreUpdate: The couple expect their first child in two weeks and have found out that they will be having a daughter.  They plan to name her Zaiya.

Originally posted July 2:Minnesota Twins player Rondell White has been on the injured list for most of this season but he is looking towards the bright side.  The 35-year-old and his wife, Zanovia, are expecting their first child in September.

Getting hurt allowed me to spend more time with my wife. That’s the only way I can look at it. I’m with her while she’spregnant, go to the doctor with her, and help out around the house. Wewatch TV until about 10 o’clock at night and fall asleep, over and over.

Poor Rondell. He must be so bummed about his injury and not getting to be with his team. At least there’s a silver lining and he gets to be with his wife and new baby a little more than he would have if he were practicing and playing this season. Hope he get’s better soon!

Rondell White is really an inspiration. The problems with his leg could make it very easy for him to just give up but he works so hard in order to play. I hope he gets off the DL soon and comes back to the Twins, we can use him!!! Good luck to Rondell and Zanovia!

And thanks to CBB for posting this as I am a huge Twins fan!!

I’m sure it sucks that he’s benched right now with an injury, but he gets to be around for his wife and possibly with the baby a bit longer in return. It’s not all bad for him. :) And I’m sure his wife appreciates having him home with her, especially with this being their first child. :)

Rondell has been on the disabled list for a while. He is a really great player but I am happy for him.
