Fred Savage's little wonder

Fred Savage has acted and directed, but there is one skill he has that he’s yet to share with the public — singing. That’s because it’s reserved for his son, Oliver Philip, 1. Ever since "Ollie"’s Aug. 5, 2006 birth, the Wonder Years star has serenaded his firstborn with the Grateful Dead‘s "Ripple" to get him to sleep every day.
Whenever I sing it, he drifts right off.
There is no denying Fred, 31, is enamored with his son. His wife Jennifer Stone, 34, says Fred has always been involved in every aspect of parenting.
From the start, Fred’s been a hands-on dad. He takes Ollie with him wherever he goes, feeds him and changes him.
The actor says having a child has brought "Jenny and me closer together," but there is one rift between them that has yet to be resolved. The two are talking about getting a pet for their son. Jenny says "we’ll see," but Fred is already eyeing a best friend for Ollie.
I know, I know, people say wait. But Ollie already loves dogs. How can we not get him one?
A dog was always part of the family plan.
Before having Ollie, Jenny wanted three kids and I wanted two. I figured we could compromise on two kids and a dog — but now she wants five!

Oliver looks just like the mom.

This is so funny – I had the biggest crush on him when I was 12 (and I think he was 13) when he was on ‘The Wonder Years’. It seemed like it was just yesterday and now we’re both all grown up. So weird! Like seeing your old high-school friends with families… Does anyone else remember how cute little Kevin was??

Maya, I totally remember how cute Kevin was!! I was so excited to see him with his wife and son in CBB. Ollie is a cutie. :) And I love that Fred already wants to buy him a dog.

My parents got our dog before the first kid was a year old and he was a great family dog. We had him for 17 years. The dog turned into another family member like dogs often do. :)

I have an Oliver, too! :) And a dog – a goldendoodle – and he and my 16 month old son are the very best of friends!! I say “go for it!”

HA! That reminds me of my own husband. He wants to get our son a dog too, but he’s at work all day…guess who would end up having to take care of the dog? We live in a city, so I can’t just let the dog in the yard, I’d have to walk to dog and pick up after it. I already have one person’s poop to pick up after, I’m not doing animal poop until all of my children are out of diapers. Sorry! I can understand where Jennifer is coming from.

OMG I had posters of Fred Savage all over the place. I *know* he is 31 but to me he will always be 12 . . . so this lady looks like his mother to me! She is far to old, lol. (No offence lady, you’re lovely, but compared to a 12 year old . . . . well . . . )

They look very happy. I can totally see Fred in Ollie. And I say, get the dog. That way they can really grow up together and have that bond.

That baby is so beautiful and happy. A dog will be great for him — children raised with animals have fewer allergies.

I have an Olivia, so am glad to see this wonderful name being carried on.

We got our dog when he was an 8 month old pup and I was a few weeks pregnant, but didn’t know it.
So, as it turned out we had our son around 8 months after getting our dog and the boys adore each other. I’m so glad it turned out that way by accident because if I had known I was pregnant I might have held off on the dog, but they’ve grown up together really and now that our dog is 6 and our son almost 5 it makes me sad to think our dog is almost halfway through his life because our son is so bonded to him.

I think he looks like his dad, he’s got his cheeks and eyes…so cute!
