Kate..The children were NOT with Britney when she shaved her head, or when she stripped and jumped into the ocean or when she goes clubbing..all of which were *gasp* caught on camera. Coincidentally, the boys aren’t with Kevin when he goes clubbing either. And that isn’t caught on camera…imagine that.

Being away from their mother might be upsetting (and I say might, because if they’re being raised mostly by nannies, then being away from her probably won’t be that upsetting for them). In cases like this a person has to figure out what would be worse for the children: being in an unstable atmosphere or being in someone else’s care and seeing their mother less. I think after seeing Britney’s pattern of instability that being around that would be more damaging for those children than being removed from their mothers care. And I realize that I don’t know Britney personally, but the people who know her best, and who know those children best (their father, their grandparents, Britney’s hired help that have spent time around both Britney and the children) also think it would be better for those children to be away from her. I think all of those people know what’s best for the children better than you do.

I know that I said I wasn’t going to discuss this any further right now….But I forgot to add in my last comment that it’s not just Brit’s feelings I’m concerned about. Sean Preston and Jayden James seem so attached to her, and seem to love her so much, that I am concerned that they will be devstated if they are removed from Britney’s custody.
I am certainly not saying that they don’t love their daddy too, but at their ages, being taken away from mommy (even if it’s just until she gets her act together, and even if she gets visatation), has got to be hard for any kid.
Also, I am not saying that Kevin is a horrible guy or anything like that, but I am not convinced that he is the better parent.
I just can’t see him actually staying at home with the boys and changing diapers, doing feedings, playing with them, etc. I have a feeling that, if he gets them, they will be left with a nanny most of the time.
Put it this way, I can’t see him being the hands-on daddy that say, Larry Birkhead is.

It shows that she is not even capable of taking care of herself, and a person who can’t take care of themselves is not going to be able to take care of other people as well. No one is saying that Britney is a bad mother, what we’re saying is that an unstable person shouldn’t have custody of innocent children. They should be given to Kevin so she can have a chance to get her act together. It’s not just for the benefit of the children, it’s also for Britney’s benefit.

And the excuse that she shouldn’t have her children taken away because it would break her heart just doesn’t wash. How Britney feels should not be more important than the safety and well-being of the children. The children should come first.

Any 1 who can’t see she loves those boys more the life it self is blind. I don’t know what she will do if she lost those boys (I think I and most of her fans really afried what she will do as we know there isn’t anything in this world that is more importent to her then her kids).

Lauren- I happen to agree with April…and guess what? I am not even a Britney fan, and she is certainly not my idol. In fact, liking Britney has nothing to do with why I am defending her.
I am defending Britney because I feel bad for her. I know that, if I were in her shoes, I’d be devestated to lose custody of my boys. Yes, I have no doubt that IF K-Fed gets custody (and to be honest, I have my doubts, since the courts tend to favor mothers most of the time) he will more than likely allow Britney vistation. However, visitation is NOT the same as having your kids living with you full or even part-time, and I am sure that having to give up custody of them would break her heart.
As far as the boys’ safety, I, like April, refuse to base my opinion on what I have seen in tabloids or even in photos on the Internet.
I don’t believe a word of what the tabloids say, as their stories are usually at least 99 percent false, and as for the pictures, I am certainly not going to judge her parenting skills by what is only a few minutes of her day.
Anyway, I know full well that Britney does have a lot of issues. I am not trying to deny that, and I don’t think that April is, either.
What I am doing is realizing that it isn’t fair of me to judge Britney’s parenting skills by the strange, stupid, and even dangerous things she does (going clubbing, stripping and jumping in the ocean, shaving her head, etc.). Those things do NOT mean that she is a bad mother, or that she has her boys in an unstable enviornment.

Rachel K and Kate, don’t even bother trying to reason with April. She is clearly unwilling and unable to reasonably speak with people whose opinions she dislikes, and trying to reason with her will do no good. She has proven herself to be nothing more than a disgruntled fan who can’t handle the truth about her idol, so clearly she isn’t going to listen to rational thought. It’s not your problem or mine, especially since she can’t legitimately respond to anything you or I say.

Well said RachelK. I don’t see anyone on this thread who is happy about what has happened to Britney or her kids. What I see are a bunch of people who are very concerned for the welfare of those 2 kids and who want them to be in a more atmosphere than Britney is currently providing, and a few people who are making a lot of excuses for things that shouldn’t be excused. I don’t see anyone who wanted this to happen, or who is happy that those children are in jeaopardy.

April – I don’t see why you can’t defend Britney without trying to villify fellow posters. Those of us who think Britney should lose custody have made it quite clear that we feel this way because we want those children to be safe, and yet you continue to accuse us of just “wanting her to fail.” Trying to make us out to be the bad guys in all of this will not make Britney’s unstable actions look any better.

April — as one of those people who whole heartedly supports custody of those children being turned over at this point to their father I want to make one thing clear. No one wants her children TAKEN AWAY! It really is a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference between taking someone’s children away from them FOREVER and saying “You know what, this person needs some serious help and in the mean time these children would be better off in the fulltime custody of their father” BIG DIFFERENCE!!
That doesn’t mean that Britney won’t get to see her children or interact with them, it just means they won’t be staying in her home with her, they won’t be being drug out into this media frezy anymore and for pete’s sake THAT is what THEY need. For all we know Kevin may allow her to visit them as often as she wants he just wants them out the atmosphere she’s created for them.

No one wants her to fail. I would love a year from now to pop up the internet and see beaming photos of Britney and her babies, happy, healthy and recovered. The fact is, she doesn’t seem to want to get help, she has turned from everyone who’s offered it (her family, friends, fired assistants and managers). The boys shouldn’t be the ones to suffer because of that.
