Nicole Richie out in NYC

Reality star Nicole Richie, 25, was spotted out in New York on Monday afternoon. She is due with her and Joel Madden‘s first child in January. More photos at INF Daily. In addition, Just Jared has photos from an early evening dinner with actress Mischa Barton. Nicole changed into an all black ensemble — save the silver heels! Also, Splash News has some clearer photos where you can see her belly through her shirt.

I hope it’s a girl! Pls take care of yourself Nicole!

- Sasha on

Can you say “bra”, Nicole?! :)

- Candace on

She is looking so much better and healthier now that she’s put a little bit of weight back on! Pregnancy suits her.

- Laura on

I think she looks great!

- Melle on

I do too Melle!

- Grayson's Girl on

Not to sound crazy, but having a baby is saving her life! She looks great!

- Jamia on

I wonder where she’s getting her super cute clothes?? Everything i’ve seen has been VERY flattering for her new body(cute bump)

- jlove on

you can’t wear a bra with that kind of dress. besides, she has a small enough cup size that she can get away with no bra. personally, i think she looks adorable & she’s gonna be so cute with a huge belly!

- yo momma on

cute dress, very flattering, but those sunglasses have to go :\

I agree w/the bra comment! Someone should tell her she needs to support her girls now, too.

- BRITchick on

People with the freaking bra comments. Seriously…They’re boobs. Get over it. Everyone has them. If you don’t like them, don’t look! Puritanical ridiculousness.
I say, flaunt ‘em before gravity and genetics pull them to the ground. And nobody “needs” support. Humans survived millions of years without bras, people. It’s all about aesthetics.
I think she looks great!

- Aaron on

If she can’t wear a bra, the dress should come with a more padded, shelf bra…SOMETHING! Who cares what her cup size is….the problem is that you can see her nipples. Not acceptable, in my book, if you can help it!

- Candace on

I hope that seeing Nicole’s nipples will not scar you for life. Seriously.
I think she looks great!

- Lucie on

She is so cute, and since she isn’t a very big girl, I could see her wearing regular and not matnerity clothes till the end. She has cute style, but her baby will be dressed great too.

- gabriella on

if Joel is OK in letting her out with no bra i think we shouldn’t bother then. Shes not showing half her boob even so i think its just nice…..she looks awesome and for those who are commenting dramatically about her needing a bra…*oh u just so wish u could wear a dress without a bra on and look half this good!*…

- lola on

I must be the only one who still thinks she still looks too skinny. Is it just me?

- Elizabeth on

She looks great! Oh god people seriously…the are JUST boobs! If the camera wasn’t 2 inches from her face then you probably wouldn’t be able to see them as well as you can now.

- Ericka on

She is looking so cute and healthy!

As for the nipple issue, when I am pregnant my nipples tend to show through my clothes too, even with a regular bra! Only a super-padded bra or lots of layers of clothes seem to keep the pregnant nipples in check!

- Shaunte on

She looks fuller by the day and I like it because she seems more healthy this way.

As someone noted this particular dress can’t really fit a bra and personally I couldn’t judge her for not wearing one, I find it weird that people always need to comment on someone wearing/not wearing a bra!

I think she’ll be all belly in a few months from now.

- Althea on

people, the bra comments are ridiculous!!! Maybe her “girls” are sore and she doesn’t want to wear a bra cuz it HURTS! Her boobs are NOT that big yet anyway and may not get too big. She is a small girl. I think she looks adorable!

- tink1217 on

Seems to me she’s enjoying actually having some hooters to show off! So I say DO IT!!!! :)

- Carrie on

Wow sheesh some of the comments on here are quite prudish. I find it strange that some of you find it SOOOOOooo unacceptable that you can see her nipples through her clothes…I’m sorry but I just had to laugh.

Personally I think she’s never looked this great in years.

- ht on

It’s funny, because these no nipple people are the same ones who can’t stand to see a breast in a baby’s mouth. I wonder, do you allow your ankles to show beneath skirts? Do you wear bloomers? Nipples, people. I mean, WOW, you’d think it was some rare offensive condition. It’s no different than a pinkie or toe. Everyone has them or has had them at some point. Better not look in National Geographic and see how the rest of the world lives!

- Aaron on

Is it strange to value modesty? It’s a shame that it seems to be, from some of the comments posted here.

- Candace on

I think she looks just adorable. So what if we can see nipples. Thank God her nipples are showing, it means she’s eating and gaining weight for their baby! Considering how super skinny she was, this is a good sign! Hopefully, both her and baby are healthy.

- Selena on

I think her clothes are too cute. Does anyone know where I can find her sunglasses?
Thanks

Sarah’s note: They are Chanel. Don’t know where to get them though.

- Anne on

Yes she can wear a bra.
There are bras out there thatfit exactly like the top she has on.

- Lola on

Does anyone know the maker of her dress? It’s really cute!

- Malady on

the more nipples seen in babies mouths the better! I wonder if Nicolel will use them to feed her baby.

- BRITchick on

I like her sunglasses – they’d look bad on me, but she pulls them off well.

I have a feeling we’re going to have another Naomi Watts on our hands. Nicole keeps getting photographed daily – at this rate, her pregnancy is going to feel 12 months long to all of us on CBB. We’ll be begging her to give birth, like when Naomi seemed to be pregnant forever. I hope she won’t be bothered too much by the daily pics. She looks really good though. Not sure why, but I have the feeling she’ll have a scheduled c-section.

- PSB on

I don’t think people here are being prudish or ridiculous. I can’t believe one is even trying to bring up breastfeeding again. Some will do anything to push that point. The reason I think she should wear a bra is because your breast need support, especially during pregnancy. I didn’t know that during my first pregnancy and it would have helped. But hey it’s her breast, let her find out the hard way. If we all worry about ourselves and our own kids, we’ll be a lot happier.

- jen on

I was just going to say I like this dress and think she has great style. I didn’t even notice the nipples. Give the girl a break…some of us just have that problem. I’ve had it all my life. No matter how padded the bra, it seems like you can see ‘em. And I’m a conservative girl. No midriff baring tops, mini-skirts or even bikinis for me.

I can’t believe I just admitted that!

- Charity on

I agree with Charity. I can’t help it. I wear bras and people always come with the comments — you must be cold? or what are _you_ thinking about?

I wear thick shirts, still show.

The only ones that seem to have a probably with it are the girls. The men sure don’t mind.

- Meesee on

I happen to think that Nicole looks amazing.
And to all the haters with the boob comments, jeeze lighten up they’re boobs, quit being so prude. So you can see her nipples, big deal, they’re nipples. You have them, I have them who cares?

- carrie on

I think she is looking great with a fuller figure! As for all the breast comments – she might as well take advantage of going braless in a halter top now. After being pregnant and nursing two babies, my braless/halter dress days are LONG gone!

- charsmom on

Wow, some people will always find something to complain about. She looks gorgeous and healthy, and that is ALL that matters.

- Jes on

She looks amazing. She is glowing with good health. Get over the nipple thing. It has nothing to do with modesty. It is prudish. She looks stunning.

- Kate on

I’m with the pro boob crowd here; I think she looks fantastic! Candace, it isn’t strange to value modesty, it’s wrong to force your views onto others and judge people who feel differently than you. If you wanna cover yours up, go for it. If she doesn’t, why do you care?

- ap on

Lola- No, she can’t really wear a bra with that shirt. Yes, there are bras that might fit under it, BUT, even if they did, her bra straps would still show, and I doubt she’d want that. Anyway, I agree with the commenters who have said that someone women have nipples that show even if they are wearing a good bra. I myself have that problem from time to time.

- Annoynomus on

I didn’t realise I couldn’t bring up b’feeding? I’m not new to the site, but I am to making comments.

- BRITchick on

BRITchick- Of course you can bring up bfing. For some reason, some of the commentors here on CBB get uspet practically everytime us pro-bfers bring up bfing. Believe me, if bringing up bfing wasn’t allowed, the moderators wouldn’t have posted your comment.

- Annoynomus on

Aaron – have you seen how the rest of the world lives? I mean, besides National Geographic or a spring break trip to Cancun. Because I have. (I live in India, and have traveled a lot, as well) And none of the cultures I’ve been in show their areolas like this. I don’t know how they do it, because you can’t help when your nipples point out, but I’ve never even been in a culture that showed their nipples.

I too think pregnancy suits Nicole. She is looking healthy and happy.

- emily on

Amen to you, Emily! I agree 100%. I have a body type identical to Nicole’s, and while my chest requires no support, I always cover up my nipples with “blinders” (such things do exist); doinmg otherwise would be classless and tasteless, especially around people I respect, such as those I work with and my family. I don’t know where you “pro-boob” people live, but where I come from, letting your nipples show is not cool at all. Clearly Candace hit a nerve with a lot of you with her pefectly innocent comment; I wonder why she has so many people on the defense? Touchy, touchy.
And Aaron, since you’re undoubtedly wondering about the rest of my wardrobe-I love wearing skirts that hit above the ankles as well as tanks and halters, and I wouldn’t know how to wear bloomers if you handed a pair to me. Most people consider nipples showing to be inappropriate; THAT is how the rest of the world lives. There’s nothing unintentionally funnier than an uneducated person trying to act like a hot shot.

- Lauren on

“Candace, it isn’t strange to value modesty, it’s wrong to force your views onto others and judge people who feel differently than you. If you wanna cover yours up, go for it. If she doesn’t, why do you care?”

Honestly, what bothers me about nipples showing through has nothing to do with me. It has to do with the chivilrous, classy, respectful men that I know (husband, brothers, cousins, father, friends). MANY have expressed to me how uncomfortable they feel when they see women who are exposed. They feel like they can’t focus their full attention on the woman because they are distracted. Everyone knows how visually stmluated men are. If they see nipples they are going to be distracted. Period. Like it or not, nipples are a sexual thing for men and they WILL notice. (And don’t EVEN try to bring up that nipples are JUST for feeding babies…They do serve more than one purpose. I fully support breastfeeding, so don’t even try to bring up that arguement.) If you see this as being “prudish” of me, then so be it. I, and respectable men, see it as being tasteful and having class (just as Lauren said).

- Candace on

That argument, Candace, is exactly the reason that women in Islamic societies are forced to cover their hair (and the majority of their bodies). The argument essentially says that men can’t control their sexual urges so females must be responsible for making them more comfortable. That’s insane!!!
There’s a small leap from this argument to arguing that a woman in a mini-skirt is responsible for a sexual assault on her because of the way she dresses. Sorry, don’t buy it…will never buy it.

- ap on

ap: There are extremes to every arguement. Thank you for bringing that up. I definitely wasn’t intending to push that idea to the extremes of Islam or sexual assault.

What it comes down to is having mutual respect for the people that surround us everyday, whether it’s man to woman, woman to man, man to man, or woman to woman. The idea that “I should be able to do or say whatever, dress or act however I want without consideration for those around me” is very childish and self-centered.

- Candace on

They’re kind of staring you right in the face aren’t they?
