Awww! So sweet. I love baby girls with pierced ears, though I’d imagine earrings are pretty high maintanence on babies considering how much upkeep they require for the first few months afterward. Not to mention the baby possibly pulling them out, getting jabbed by them, etc. But they look great!

In our culture every single baby girl has her ears pierced as soon as they are born, and I ve never heard of anything like that happening. Its usually a nurse in the hospital that does it.

I had my ears pierced when I was a baby too..around six months. They have a really cute family. I think the bandana is just protection from the sun or fashion but eithe rway it’s adorable on her.

I hate pierced ears on babies. I think it should be illegal. And a nurse does it in a hospital too? Is it really worth taking the risk that it can cause infections.
If a girl or boy wants their ears pierced, they can make the decision when they are old enough.

I think it’s wrong to pierce the ears of a baby, they cannot give their consent yet so they shouldn’t have holes put in them. besides that I love this photo! So cute. The bandana looks great too.

Pierced ears don’t require any special attention. You just leave the ”medicinal” earing in for a few weeks, swab the ear with alcohol and put normal earrings in.
I’m eternally grateful to my parents for getting my ears pierced when I was a baby, and therefore to small to remember the pain. All the women around me wear earring and I love wearing them and would love to get more piercings but am to afraid of the pain.

As far as the pierced ears go, I don’t what “special” attention you are referring to…both my daughters had theirs pierced (as did I) at 4 months and it was really easy, no more pain than a vaccination – they cried for literally twenty seconds, and I could control the cleaning of the ears (for the short six week period). Anyway, it’s very LOW maintenance, if you ask me. I never think about it. My oldest is 3.5 and we have never messed with them and niether has she.
Also, our pediatrician did the piercings so, it was done in a very clean environment. I’m Puerto Rican and I never understood why everyone else’s parents made such a big deal about this when I was growing up. I guess it is a cultural thing. You will never convince me it’s “cruel” and I will probably never be able to convince you that it’s cute and practical.

Sanja- it really doesn’t hurt that much when you get it done. If you use the piercing gun, it’s super fast and then it kind of stings afterwards for 20 minutes but it’s nothing that a kid or adult can’t deal with.
My daughter got her ears pierced when she was 4 months old, in my country they do it as soon as they are born. Her ears NEVER got infected and she has NEVER pulled them or had any ‘accidents’ she is 5 now.

Okay people get over the fact that she has her ears pierced. They’re pierced and it’s done. The picture is barnone the best photo of a father sharing a moment with his little girl. It is the cutest picture ever!!! I love it!

I guess certain things are cultural, huh? I had my ears pierced at around 4 months old. It’s how it’s done in our culture. I guess I take it so much for granted that I didn’t even notice the baby had her ears pierced, until others brought it up. I was always glad I had it done as a baby, because I wouldn’t want to go through the hassle as an adult. But I understand why some would be opposed to piercing a baby’s ears.

I don’t understand what the problem is with her ears being pierced. It’s a cultural thing. I am Colombian and I had my ears pierced the day after I was born. If you ask me, its better that way. It was done at the hospital, which is a cleaner environment, and you never have to deal with your daughter wanting to get her ears pierced like all her friends. If she doesn’t want to wear earrings when she’s older, she doesn’t have to.
I think it looks really cute on baby girls and even though I’m not a big Montoya fan, this picture is ADORABLE

Danielle- I know it doesn’t hurt that much, (my brother had four piercings in his teen years -said it didn’t hurt), I just have a thing about needles:( (also no epidural for me, for that same reason – I don’t mind the pain so much, but needles, NOOO way)
