I wouldn’t think that she was hiding anything. I would think that she should handle the situation in a mature way. She need to be the bigger person. She is putting herself on his level now. Now, IMO, she going to far. Did anyone see the Larry King interview? What was the deal with a 9 million dollar house and these specific demands. She absolutely do not want to handle this privately. IMO her side of the story about her and Murphy’s relationship doesn’t add up, but that doesn’t give Eddie Murphy the right to deny his child. She just seems calculated.

Good for her.It only seems like she is everywhere cause we are on a baby blog where every move she makes about her child is posted.I think it’s good she is being public about it cause if she had been private the same people complaining about her being so public would say that she is hiding something. Either way I don’t think she can win with some people.

I would have gone the Elizabeth Hurley route. Establish paternity and turn down child support. Elizabeth turned down money from a billionaire.
Mel B has her own money. Isn’t she getting paid 20 million for the Spice Girl tour alone?
IMO she should not choose to stay in the limelight any longer for the sake of her child. Having a very public lunch with the ex wife, the pictures with her lawyer, so many pictures with her new husband, it’s getting to be overkill. We get it. Eddie Murphy is a dog, got it.
Off the subject, but why a marriage so soon? None of my business, but if she knew this guy for 7 years why not have a child with him?

As I said before I don’t agree with this. She has a right to do what she wishes but where is it going to get her in the end?

Why force someone to be a dad when they don’t want to be? I’d rather my child have a daddy who wanted to be with her rather then have the courts force him to be there. She can smear his name all over but she’s the only one making herself look like a fool at this point.

Eddie should step up to the plate and be a father to this child (and there is no reason why he can’t) so it leads me to believe there is more to this story then we all know.

There’s only so far Mel can go, in regards to talking about Eddie to various media names, before she starts to look childish herself.

If Mel had given the baby her last name on its own, there’s a chance that the judge in the child support case would have changed the baby’s name (either by adding Murphy at the end [which would effectively make Brown just a second middle name], or completely dropping Brown in favor of Murphy). That has happened during child support cases even when neither party asked for it.

This way, Murphy is already there, but it’s tucked into the second middle name position where it can be mostly forgotten.

Kim, I believe the reason Melanie chose to give Angel Eddies last name as well as hers is that this way Angel has a connection not only to her father but to her siblings as well.
And I think in the light of how he treated her during and after the pregnancy that was a grand thing to do. I certainly wouldn’t have.
