Lionel Richie 'happy' about Nicole's pregnancy

While leaving Koi restaurant last evening, singer Lionel Richie, 58, was asked by photographers how he felt about his daughter Nicole Richie‘s pregnancy. He replied,

I’m happy, babe!

Just before getting in his car, he was asked what special song he would dedicate to his daughter — he chose ‘Three Times a Lady.’

Nicole, 25, and her beau Joel Madden, 28, are due with their first child in January.

I thought that was an interesting pick for a song especially since he wrote Ballerina Girl for her. So i looked at the lyrics and i think i get it. He is unofficially handing her over to Joel. Being that he is no longer her number one guy. very nostalgic and bitter sweet. that is one wedding i would love to attend or at least hear all the details of.
