Tea Leoni's SuperGoop sun fix

08/06/2007 at 10:13 AM ET

Supergoop_2Celebrity parents, especially in sunny California, know the importance of finding a good quality sunscreen for their children. Dr. T’s physician formulated SuperGoop (from $6.50) is a favorite of Tea Leoni & David Duchovny who frequently order the product.

What’s nice about SuperGoop is that the company promotes sunscreen usage as a lifestyle – year round, every day – not just as a beach precaution. Their sunscreen is sold in large kid friendly containers with a pump lid, that are made to sit on the bathroom counter or shelf. This way little ones can make it a part of their daily routine, applying sunscreen when they brush teeth, before they get dressed and hopefully establish a lifelong habit that will serve them well.

The formula is extremely gentle, weightless and non greasy. It offers an SPF of 30 that screens both UVA and UVB rays and does not clog pores, allowing the skin to breathe. I was very interested to learn that the company chose an SPF of 30 rather than a higher number because the amount of additional protection in a higher number formulation is actually somewhat negligible while the amount of chemicals becomes potentially irritating to young skin.

In addition to the large pump bottles, SuperGoop is available in multi-packs of purse sized containers, so you can stay protected on the go. Other celebrity parents who have this product include Brooke Shields, Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon.

LOVE TEA! Smart to speak up about protecting children!

Can’t wait to try it! Nice also to learn Tea is so protective of her family while so many celebrities leave it to the nanny’s and aren’t as “hands-on!” Thanks for the info! Cool name for a sunscreen too.

Mom Said It

"It helps that other moms had said that once they had their babies, they forgot they were ever pregnant. So once my focus became the baby and not the pregnancy, it was a very easy decision."
