Actress Sara Gilbert, 32, and her longtime partner Allison Adler welcomed their second child on Thursday, August 2nd. Daughter Sawyer joins big brother Levi Hank, 2 1/2.
This had been the first pregnancy for Sara — Allison carried their son.

Awesome news! The name Sawyer is an interesting choice, I always thought it was a last name rather than a first name. In ‘Roseanne’ Sara’s character Darlene named her baby daughter ‘Harris’, which was (her mother) Roseanne’s maiden name. I wonder if the name ‘Sawyer’ has a similar meaning for Sara?

Does anyone know who’s last name the children use? Or does Levi go by Adler and Sawyer go by Gilbert? Just curious. I’m happy for them, congrats and love both the names Levi & Sawyer. Although if Levi uses Adler as a last name I would have given him Gilbert as a middle name.

Congrats to them on their newest addition! I really like her name, it’s different without being too quirky. I love that they took turns being pregnant, that’s the one thing as a heterosexual I’m kinda sad I don’t get to do.LOL When I do have kids I’d love for my husband and I to rotate pregnancy schedules.

I wonder why there was so much secrecy around their first child and keeping his name a secret, which didn’t last anyway because we still found out his name…
but why are they so willingly to share information about their daughter? maybe they figure it’s a wasted effort??
