Anne Heche and Coley Laffoon must submit to testing before custody can be settled

Actress Anne Heche, 38, and estranged husband, actor Coley Laffoon, 33, must submit to psychological, drug and alcohol testing in order for the court to make recommendations on how to proceed with their son Homer’s custody-visitation plan.

Earlier this year, Anne asked for temporary sole custody of Homer, 5, with reasonable visitation by Coley. She also asked that Homer be allowed to attend kindergarten in Vancouver, Canada, in the fall, where she films Men in Trees. A judge later ruled that Homer would live with his father (who was a stay-at-home dad during the marriage) in Los Angeles while Anne films in Canada, and have alternate weekend visits with Anne.

Meanwhile, Anne claimed in those papers that Coley,

…Makes numerous false allegations about his own parenting skills and fitness as well as mine...[he] sends Homer to preschool and leaves him with nannies and babysitters while he plays ping-pong, backgammon and poker and views pornography online.

It’s so sad how ugly divorces can get. After reading this article I’m left with one question… if her husband is as bad as she says and he left their son with nannies and such to look at pornography and play ping pong…. why did she support him in being a stay at home father???

It’s been reduced to pingpong and pornography? How many dads (and mums for that matter!) would be considered unfit if viewing pornography was reasonable grounds?!

I suppose if you’re desperate to keep your kids you’d try or say or do anything to get custody … but still…
