Near Mama's Heart: A book for kids who love to nurse
As a nursing mom and a breastfeeding advocate I was ecstaticto receive Colleen Newman’s book, Near Mama’s Heart.
I own many a nursing book – basically if there is achildren’s book on the market that depicts a positive image of a nursing childin any way I own it already – but I particularly love this book because it usesreal images of kids nursing. And notice I use the word “kids” and not babies. Ilove that this book shows photos of children – not only infants – happily nursing.
The book is in color and the text is cute but not cutesy. My still nursing two-year-old and I read it aspart of our pre-bedtime reading and neither one of us can get enough.
