Buddy Bell resigns from Kansas City Royals to be with family
Family comes first for Kansas City Royals’ manager Buddy Bell. The 55-year-old has announced that he will step down from his position at the end of the season and go to work in the front office.
He stated that his decision is based on his family and his health.
I have grandchildren, I have a daughter that’s handicapped and needs alot of attention and I want to spend more time with. And, quitefrankly, I need to be at home.
Buddy’s youngest daughter, Traci, was born with Down’s Syndrome.
Traci was being prepared for her father’s announcement.
I hope she’s not watching TV right now. She’sthe biggest Royals fan of all, so if you guys could not report thisuntil tomorrow, I’d appreciate it.
The family which includes his wife, Gloria, and children David, Michael, Ricky and Kristi will be moving to Cincinnati to be closer to family and friends.
