Brewers' Scott Linebrink and wife welcome daughter

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Scott Linebrink‘s wife, Kelly, was induced on Monday, July 30 to give birth to the couple’s first child on his off-day.  However, the couple’s new daughter, Ellie Jane, had a different idea and was born the following day, Tuesday, July 31, by Cesarean section.

Ned Yost, manager for the team, spoke with the new father and reported that,

It was a rough time for them.

In the meantime, the 30-year-old will be away from the team until Friday as he spends time with his family.

YAY! I love the Brewers and I am happy for Scott and his wife. On the game broadcast tonight they said he won’t be back until Friday so he can be with his family. On the Brewers’ website there is also a story about Brewer daddies. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070730&content_id=2118654&vkey=news_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil
