Little Big Town's Kimberly Roads welcomes a daughter

Kimberly Roadsof the country group Little Big Town got an on-the-road surprise this week when her daughter arrived three weeks early.

Kimberly and husband Stephen Schlapman were expectingtheir first child in late August, but Daisy Pearl made her debut in Phoenix, AZ on Friday evening, after the band played a show there on Thursday night. Daisy weighed in at 6 lbs, 10 oz, and is 18 inches long.

Aww, yay for them!

Daisy Pearl is super cute, but the name geek in me can’t help but point out that both names are related to Margaret (Marguerite means ‘daisy’ in French and Margaret actually means ‘pearl’). It’s like naming your son James Hamish or something.

Congrats to Kimberly and her husband! I’m a big fan of LBT…and am thrilled she has found love again and a beautiful bundle of joy. (If you don’t know, Kimberly lost her husband when he was in his early 40s a few years ago to a heart attack…he also was the group’s manager. In the past year or so all the LBT members have gotten married, too, coinciding with ther success.) Best wishes!
