Gay activist Romaine Patterson and partner welcome a daughter

American gay rights activist and one host of the talk show Derek and Romaine, Romaine Patterson and her partner Iris welcomed their first child on July 20.

Romaine Katherine Patterson was born by c-section at 4:57 PM, weighed in at 10 lbs, 7 oz and measured 21.5 inches. Picture of the newborn baby girl can be seen at Romaine’s official website. Romaine herself will return from maternity leave on August 27th.

It’s so weird to me when people name their own kids after themselves–especially when they have a girl, because it’s so rarely done.

That is one pudgy baby. I like a good pudgeball. Bet she can already hold her own head up!

(Maybe one day Romaine will name her little one Romaine, as well!! haha..she could be Romaine, III)
