David Beckham says Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz "are happy boys"

Davidandromeobeckham In the new documentary David Beckham: New Beginnings, soccer star David Beckham — who makes his debut for the LA Galaxy tonight — seemed excited for the future while also sad to say goodbye to Spain and its people, who have rooted for him the last four years.  According to David, life in Madrid was also good for his wife Victoria and their three boys:  Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4 and Cruz, 2.

Brooklyn and Romeo have learnt Spanish.  Brooklyn is almost fluent…Romeo is the middle child, so he has a bit of a different personality.  He thinks he’s fluent, he jabbers along…They’re great little boys.  I turned ’round to them once and said ‘where’s your favorite house?’ Is it Spain?  Is it the house in England?  Brooklyn just turned ’round and said ‘Daddy, wherever you and Mommy are.  That’s our favorite house.’  They’re happy boys.

Victoria was criticized by some for her frequent absences from David’s waning matches with Real Madrid, but according to David, the criticism was unfounded.

Victoria’s been accused of being away from the kids, from me, jollying it up in Los Angeles…When what she’s been doing is working.  Trying to get the school situation sorted out.  She was even baking cakes, doing everything possible.  I actually think that when I arrive I’m going to be the school PE (Phys Ed) teacher.  I think she promised everything possible to get the kids in the school.

The boys have divergent tastes.  Brooklyn plays soccer "almost every day," according to David, while Romeo is "a little performer" who recently requested a wireless microphone for his .

I’ll always support the kids in whatever they want to do but I would love them to be footballers.

Saying that he would love to add "one or two" children to their ever-growing family, David — like his wife — is thinking pink.

I’d love a couple more.  I’d love a little girl.  We’re blessed to have three beautiful boys already, and if we’re blessed to have another one or two children, that would be amazing.  Three boys is difficult at times, but there’s nothing that gives you that feeling of coming home and seeing the kids and spending time with them.  Nothing better in the world than that.  If you’re a parent, then you realize that feeling.

Considering how famous they are they seem like such normal parents. You can tell their boys are being raised with good morals by the beautiful comment Romeo made. I just love it, its beautiful and something I’m sure they will always remember.

For all her apparent vanity I have to say that Victoria seems to be a fabulous wife and mother. She really does seem to love all four of her boys to bits. As for big sexy….er…David, the fact that he draws breath is enough for me lol. To hear him talk about his boys is almost sexy overload. It seems they’re doing a fantastic job with those boys as they sound blissfully normal.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love David Beckham any more he goes and talks about his wife and family in such a great way. *sigh*

What a great couple. I saw photos of them out to dinner recently and David was being the perfect gentleman with Victoria. And Brooklyn’s comment about where their favourite home is – so sweet.

Such a cute family.

I just watched Victoria’s show the other night on NBC. She is a VERY shallow and into herself women. She has a hairsylist and make-up with her @ all times. She didn’t want a personal assistant who was thin or pretty.
Now why could she not bring her boys with her if they already had a rented house in LA?
I personally think they are just another rich couple who hires people to take care of them as well as their kids. I’m also sick
of always commenting on wanting a girl.
How will their 4th child (if a son) feel
when he reads all these articles?
PUKE!!!

I had always though Victoria Beckham was a stuck up girl but ever since watching that special I love her… I think shes got an awesome sense of humor and seems to love her family. And shes not like most hollywood trash that love to talk about how much money they have… very family oriented

I hate the fact that Cruz is never included like when David gave a comment on what the older 2 boys are like but nothin on Cruz !!
I always see that Cruz is never with the rest of the family until recently and then he wasnt at david first galaxy game but the rest of the family were !! God that is just shocking and by the way i think Cruz is the cutest of all of them so you do good for yourself cruzie xx lol

- leanne on

I think Cruz isn’t with the family on all outings because he’s the youngest. He’s probably not ready to sit through a football match at his age. I don’t believe it’s because they love him less.

Anyway I’ve seen lots of photos of the whole family together and they look like a loving family to me.

Regarding Cruz, if you watch the documentary, David does slip in a little funny story about Cruz. David says that Cruz is going through a stage wherein he thinks David Beckham the football player is a different person from David Beckham his father. David says that whenever Cruz puts on the Real Madrid Becks jersey, he asks him who David Beckham is and Cruz says “Me.” lol. He’s adorable.

With regards to the other boys’ divergent interests, the interviewer specifically asked about the “two older boys” as it was really a question about the boys’ interest in football.

I also saw Victoria holding Cruz at David’s first galaxy game after the match at the end of ESPN’s coverage. I’m sure it was him plus he was holding a bottle. He was just inside. Maybe sleeping, napping, tired – they had just moved then…

Hope this clears things up. Cruz is just still too young and is the youngest of three little boys. Not easy dragging around everyone unlike when there is only one child. But as he gets older, it’s great that we have gotten to see a lot more of Cruz and it’s obvious from the recent pictures that he’s very much the baby of the family.
