Princess Sofia christened in Madrid

Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia chose the gardens of Zarzuela Palace to christen their newborn daughter Sofia, 11 weeks old. Sofia was baptized as Sofia de Todos los Santos (Sofia of All Saints) as it is tradition in the Spanish Royal Family. Her godparents were her maternal grandmother Paloma Rocasolano and Prince Konstantine of Bulgaria.

Letizia commented on Sofia that she was a really good baby and that she was very attentive. Sofia didn’t cry during the christening. It was also the second time we saw her, after her official presentation when Letizia was released from the hospital.

Also present were the King and Queen, Letizia’s parents and grandparents, Felipe’s sisters, Princesses Elena and Cristina with their respective families and Letizia’s sister Thelma. Letizia’s niece, Carla, daughter of sister Erika, who recently passed away, was not present at the ceremony.

However, the show-stealer was Leonor, 20 months, the couple’s first daughter. She looked like a real Goldilocks wearing a white summery dress.

Photos available at El Mundo and a video can be seen at 20 Minutos.

They are such a beautiful family. And Leonor, how can one be so gorgeous! She is absolutely one of the most beautiful children I have ever seen.

leonor is gorgeous, she looks so big and different for the last time we saw her, this family is gorgepus

She is gorgeous, although sofia is a really cute baby, her sister was so different from birth, also from very little on wards a lot of hair in great curls, I think Sofia won’t have that, if we look at the little bald head :)
But anyway two really cute girls with a loving family!

“Letizia’s niece, Carla, daughter of Erika, who recently passed away, was not present at the ceremony.”

Is this really what you meant to post? You also don’t identify who Erika is… Letizia’s sister?

Sarah’s note: I think that’s what Char meant, yes. English isn’t her first language so sometimes things aren’t quite clear. I’ll fix the post.

Great photos of such a beautiful family! Sofia is a cute baby, and big sister, Leonor, is gorgeous! Those blonde curls and blue eyes…she’s an absolute doll. :-)

Where did she get those great blond curls? Mom and dad have such dark straight hair.

Brandi – both Felipe and Letizia had blonde hair when they were kids, so we have yet to see if Leonor’s hair will grow darker as she grows older. :D

Anyway, Leonor is just so adorable. Sofia is so cute!

Leonor is just the cutest little girl! And she seems to have such personality. She was definitely the scene stealer in the video from her sister’s official presentation. The whole family is gorgeous.

Isn’t it funny how the popularity of the celeb parents seems to determine how admired their child is. I mean, I think Shiloh and Suri are both very beautiful in very different ways but the way people rave about them, you would think there were no two girls more beautiful ever. Leonor is definitely way up with those two in my book :-)

Oh my! What a gorgeous family! Mom looks fantastic after 11 weeks, the lucky lady. I do feel for the dear Prince, two beautiful daughters will give him quite the handful :)

Leonor does indeed look like an adorable little doll at the moment, but she also very much resembles her paternal grandmother and I make every bet that in the end little Sofia will turn out the prettier one of the two girls :o )

Awww Sofia is so precious!

Awww. Sofia’s such a beautiful little baby girl and is getting so big (she’s almost 3 months!!!) while Leonor’s already growing up to be a gorgeous young lady with that beautiful blond hair of hers!!! This is one remarkable family and I bet the two sisters, who are the youngest ones in the family will grow up from adorable little girls to strong and independent women in the future.
