Princess Sofia christened in Madrid
Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia chose the gardens of Zarzuela Palace to christen their newborn daughter Sofia, 11 weeks old. Sofia was baptized as Sofia de Todos los Santos (Sofia of All Saints) as it is tradition in the Spanish Royal Family. Her godparents were her maternal grandmother Paloma Rocasolano and Prince Konstantine of Bulgaria.
Letizia commented on Sofia that she was a really good baby and that she was very attentive. Sofia didn’t cry during the christening. It was also the second time we saw her, after her official presentation when Letizia was released from the hospital.
Also present were the King and Queen, Letizia’s parents and grandparents, Felipe’s sisters, Princesses Elena and Cristina with their respective families and Letizia’s sister Thelma. Letizia’s niece, Carla, daughter of sister Erika, who recently passed away, was not present at the ceremony.
However, the show-stealer was Leonor, 20 months, the couple’s first daughter. She looked like a real Goldilocks wearing a white summery dress.
