Matt Leinart: Loves the little things about fatherhood

Eight months after becoming a father to son Cole Cameron Leinart, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart, 24, tells People that he enjoys the nuances of fatherhood the most.

My son is 8 months now. It’s a blessing to have him in my life. I love it, man. I love being a dad. It’s different. You’re forced to do all those little things. I love doing it, and Ilove being with him. I change diapers all the time. You never wouldthink you had so much enjoyment, like kissing someone’s toes and feet –the little things. Like, that’s my little guy. I have a great time withhim.

After a year of changes, including the switch from college to professional football, a breakup with Cole’s mother, USC basketball player Brynn Cameron, and becoming a father last fall, Matt says his son has helped him find a balance.

Being a father is great. It puts things in perspective. It’s definitely more difficult because you’ve got to manage your timedifferently. My priority is my family and my son. Footballis my job. But you’ve got to find time to do both.

He needs to give Tom Brady a call and chat with him about priorities. But Tom seems to be too busy galavanting around the world sleeping with Giselle. This hectic schedule with his new priority as Giselle’s boyfriend couldn’t possibly allow time for him to contemplate the importance of fatherhood.

Men like him and Ne-yo are shining exapmles or fatherhood and manhood. It’s amazing that at such young ages (I think they’re both 24) they know enough to stand up and be fathers to these beautiful children. Kudos to Matt, he sounds like a WONDERFUL dad! Especially considering he and his son’s mother were no longer together at the time of her pregnancy.

Man, he is so hot! I love hearing about how excited men are to be fathers, and of fatherhood in general.

Turns out he was fibbing if Brynn had to speak up otherwise. Typical!
