Rapper KRS-One's adult son dies

We are saddened to report that the 23-year-old son of hip-hop legend KRS-One has died.  Authorities say Randy Hubbard Parker was found dead in his Atlanta apartment on Friday of an apparent suicide. In a statement released on Tuesday, KRS-One’s wife and Randy’s mother, Simone G. Parker, said he had endured a long term battle with "severe depression."

A private memorial service for the rapper’s son will be held on his , July 18, and another is scheduled for some time in August in his home state of New York. Randy, a graphic designer and fashion entrepreneur, was in Atlanta looking for employment opportunities.

KRS-One was overseas on tour when the news broke and has not yet commented on his son’s death, but his wife did thank everyone for their support at this time.

According to Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office investigator Mark Guilbeau, Randy died of a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

so sad..as someone who has lost children (although in a very different matter) i understand the pain of loss. i can only imagine how hard it is knowing he killed himself also. my thoughts and prayers are with his family..i hope he is at peace now,though i wish he could have been here ((the parkers))
