Federline’s drug/marijuana usage is well documented. As are his wild partying ways, philandering, fame-seeking, heavy drinking and questionable company.

He makes Britney look like a saint. The only reason he appeared sane during Britney’s stint in rehab was to get his cut of the divorce settlement without any question of merit.

The day any court grants him sole custody of any child is the day hell freezes over.

Ok, I saw the bigger picture on DListed, and I hate to say it but the kid has all the facial features of fetal alcohol syndrome. Folds over the eyes. Smooth philtrum. Look at these links, and look at the picture. Look at the full, larger photo if you can find it. The smooth philtrum, and folds over the eyes are the biggest giveaways. I know some don’t want to believe it, but I know enough about FAS to be 99% sure this kid has it.

It really doesn’t matter if Britney, Kevin or both contributed to JJ’s risk for Fetal Alcohol issues; what matters to me and most readers of CBB is that like any parent- Jayden has the care and support if he happens to have any Fetal Alcohol related problems.

So many parents don’t realize it takes NO alcohol usage during pregancy to 100% prevent even the less intense Fetal Alcohol Effects. Britney has acknowledged that JJ is a “bonus baby” (unplanned), and she or any mother in that situation may not have known she was pregnant in time to stop her drinking behavior. Unfortunately, if the press is believable, both parents have a history of hard liquor usage and possibly other drug useage.

We readers do not have to diagnose JJ, but he does seem to have some collective classic signs that are not just family traits. Two most prominent ones:

Nope, I’m not saying that’s the only reason she kept her kids and I’m definitely not saying she ever abused them. I am however saying that if you look at her situation she is lucky. Lucky that she had the means to take care of her children and see to it that they were taken care of DESPITE her behaviors and what she was going through. Depsite the fact that there was a point in her life when clearly she couldn’t care for them herself.

I’ve seen plenty of poor people neglect and abuse their children too, and you’re right they usually don’t get taken away… however, those individuals usually aren’t the ones seeking help (which is who I’m refering to).

I’m simply speaking of individuals in “similiar” situations that Britney were in. She’s incredibly lucky that while she was in rehab she had the means to provide support for her children and a loving family backing her up (and yes, she’s INCREDIBLY lucky that Kevin Federline didn’t seek sole custody). There are plenty of not so fortunate individuals who can’t fight to keep their children when they choose to finally break down and get themselves help. And many of these individuals lose their children in the process of getting their own lives back on track.

What video are you talking about? She has SP out of his seat ONCE. Jayden’s carseat was sitting forward when the car was NOT moving. She was driving w/ SP down the street from her house not the PCH! You say she gets a break cuz she’s famous. I don’t think so. The only reason we even know this is because she’s famous. She was investegated. & CPS said they found nothing. Are you saying you know more about the boys situation than them?

You’re saying she only kept her kids because she’s rich? I’ve seen plenty of poor parents neglect & abuse their kids & still not get them taken away. Britney going out at night still didn’t warrant her kids being taken away. Going out at night, leaving your kids alone, not feeding & clothing them is a huge difference.

Their dad was the biggest threat to take the kids away but he seemed more interested in striking a deal. For that I think she is lucky.

When I say that many parents in Britney’s situation would lose their children I’m serious. I don’t mean the carseat incidents or the highchair incidents I too understand that accidents happen, but what I mean is this;

The average person can’t afford to hire a nanny to supervise their child(ren) while they go out and party and drink and do lord knows what else. Therefore, often times those children are in worse positions than Sean and Jayden faced. Thankfully they seem to have been well taken care of while Britney was off galavanting.
Does this mean she thought anymore of their wellfare than the mother who while not rich or famouse is just as troubled and addicted and ended up in a similar situation? No. But the difference is, those mothers typically lose their children when they go to rehab. They often can’t afford to fight, don’t have families to help them out and they can’t prove that they can afford good care while they’re away. And many times they don’t get those children back.

So when I say that Britney is lucky, I mean it. She is VERY lucky.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel bad for what she went through… she was clearly a troubled individual but there are no excuses. I don’t care that she was young, had a baby and a divorce (she and SO many others)… that was HER choice. She should have chosen to put her partying aside and think about her children… period.

Christine- I don’t think we’re trying to find “excuses” for Britney’s behavior. As another poster pointed out, she made maybe TWO, at the most THREE bad choices involving her kids. Those would be driving with Sean and on her lap, and then having Sean and then Jayden forward-facing too soon (and Sean in a seat that is meant to be rear-facing only to boot).
Anyway, it’s not like she is continually making bad choices about her kids. Since all the incidents with Sean P, the one and only time we have seen her make a bad choice involivng her kids was when she had Jayden forward-facing in his carseat.
As for the fact that, “Every mother has to know how to buckle their kid into a carseat and do it properly”: Yes, of course everyone should be aware of the proper way to to put a carseat into a car and a child into a carseat correctly.
HOWEVER, it is a fact that over 90 percent (the actual number is a little higher, but I can’t remember what it is exactly the) of carseats are installed incorrectly. So, the fact of the matter is that A LOT of parents DON’T know how to properly use a carseat!
All of that said, I also want to comment that we really don’t know whether or not Britney was ready to become a mother. Just because she made some bad choices doesn’t neccesarily mean that she wasn’t ready. The only one who really knows whether or not Britney was ready to be a mother is Britney herself.

I can’t understand how people can find her excuses to her behaviour!
First, she drove with her son on her lap, there are NO excuses for that ! Even the paps are not one… And her ” We’re country, that’s how we do” pissed me off !! yeah Brit on a empty road at 1 mile per hour not on the PCH !!!
Second, she didn’t buckle her son properly !! Every mother HAVE TO know how and do it properly ( whatever her age!!)

My best friend who is 20 ( and the mother of one) knows that. So please, stop with the ” ooh she is young” 24 it’s not young !! and also with the ” that’s her first baby” yeah and ??? Does it mean that your first child has to pay for your lack of experience ?? Just get prepared, read books and ask people ! Should her sons be taken away for a long time ? NO. Should she take parenting classes ?? YES !!! She was not ready to be a mother (especially a mother of 2 so quickly !) and I doubt she is now…

I don’t blame her for the fall of the highchair nor for when she stumbled in NY ( in which the paps didn’t have anything to do with it ! just watch the video) it can happen.
I’m not telling in any way that she is a bad mother or that she doesn’t love her sons, I’m sure she does but she shouldn’t have been a mother so fast.
