Keisha Castle-Hughes talks about her 'daddy's girl'

06/19/2007 at 08:40 AM ET

New mom Keisha Castle-Hughes, 17, recently participated in a photo shoot where she and other actresses modeled clothes created by New Zealand designers in promotion of New Zealand Fashion Week.  At the event, Keisha granted a television interview where she spoke about life with daughter Felicity-Amore, 7 1/2 weeks, whom Keisha credits with her fast return to pre-pregnancy form.

She just keeps me busy, and the weight’s fallen off.  I love being a mother…She’s just amazing.

Felicity only wakes once to eat overnight, prompting Keisha to admit that she and boyfriend Bradley Hull, 20, have been "very lucky…it keeps us sane."  The baby resembles Bradley, and has already been determined to be a "daddy’s girl."

I don’t know if I have a right to be happy about that or not!

Keisha said she intends to spend the immediate time being "just being a mom," finishing up some correspondence courses she’s been taking and putting the controversy of her teen pregnancy behind her.

It was a difficult time, and it was more pain than anything, but now I have Felicity and she’s amazing…it’s something to celebrate.  When people make things up (about her) now, I say ‘that’s okay, because look at her, she’s so pretty and so cute.’

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
