Jennie Garth on losing baby weight and teaching her girls to eat healthy
Jennie, who says she’s "100 percent comfortable" with the way she looks, is dropping the weight slowly through a thrice-weekly extreme-cardio class, Pilates two times per week and a healthy diet.
I’ve lost three or four pounds in the last three weeks. It comes off slow. But I’m exercising. I just want to lose maybe five more pounds.
I cook for my kids every day. Sitting down for dinner is a priority for us. That’s our time together. To lose weight, I can’t eat spaghetti, but I want them to eat spaghetti. I try to teach them the importance of eating healthy. We indulge in sweets whenever we want to, but not excessively. I don’t let them sit around and eat sugar all day, but if they want to have some ice cream or a cupcake, they can. They eat a balanced meal, every meal.
I’m into comfort over fashion.I have to be able to chase my kids. I have to be able to bend over without things falling out or my butt crack showing.
[Peter] will change a diaper if I need him to, and he loves to play with them. Now, at 8 months, Fiona’s starting to smile and laugh and recognize everyone. That’s when he really starts to attach to them.
