LOL, that's funny. And so true.

Yesterday I babysat three girls, ages 10, 8 and 3, and they were kicking my ass. They all wanted to do different things, play with different toys, and I had to find ways to divide my attention between them so that they were all entertained and no one was jealous. The little one demanded attention and wanted to go play outside when it was pouring rain; I said no, and she threw a tantrum. She's very stubborn and has quite an attitude; I couldn't satisfy her. She brought a soft toy ball into my room and started peeling off the paint in little strips, making a mess on the floor. I told her, "Please don't do that," and she just ignored me. I said, "I'm taking the ball away if you don't stop that," and she ignored me. The 10-year-old put it quite well: "Even though you're almost 20, you can not argue with a 3-year-old!" So true. You'd think I'd have the upper hand, but the little one was in charge of everything.

I'm too soft with kids. That's why they kick my ass. I tend to think that if I reason with them, they'll understand, but of course kids are irrational - that's why they're kids. A little boy I babysat once was quite witty in that matter. I asked him, "Why don't you listen to me? Can you hear me?" and he said, "I can't, because I have little ears and a little head!" How do you argue with that? :)
