Baby Jogger City Series Double: Not just for urban parents

Img_2656_2The attractive, sturdy, and incredibly manuevreable Baby Jogger City Series Double is perfect for all sorts of terrains – its impressive shocks and large wheels make for a smooth ride over bumpy sidewalks or grassy areas. You can even steer effectively with one hand! Surprisingly, it fits easily through all door frames and moves smoothly through most grocery and drug store aisles (width is 29 3/4").

The independent extended sun canopies are another added bonus – covering twice as much area as regular canopies and relieving sunburn concerns. The seats recline to an almost horizontal position so babies and toddles can nap comfortably.

The one caveat is the weight – prepare to do some serious flexing to fold up this stroller. While the easy to use folding mechanism is very user-friendly and straightforward (just grab the QuickFold straps in each of the seats and lift up), the stroller is markedly heavy and may prove challenging for slighter folks.

New features in the 2007 models include multi-position3-panel sun canopy, one-step quick release recline system (improvesupon past models which had straps on either side), and locking storagelatch (on the single) and strap (on the double) which holds thestroller closed when it is folded.

Celebrity parents who have the City Series Double include Brooke Shields, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris MartinAngelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Will Ferrell, Benjamin Bratt, Patrick Dempsey, and Stella McCartney.

The stroller retails for $549.  MyStrollers.com carries the full line.

Overall, however, two thumbs up for this attractive and highly functional stroller!

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
