The Danish royal grandchildren of Prince Henrik and Queen Margrethe, helped their grandparents celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this month. The royal couple had their portrait taken with their four grandchildren; Nikolai, 7, Felix, 4, Christian, 20 months and the "Lillepigen", 6 weeks. The daughter of Prince Frederik and Princess Mary will be named at her christening in 3 weeks.
“Hello” got the boys’ ages mixed. It’s actually Nikolai who’s 7 and Felix is 4.

They probably know what her name is going to be. They just keep it a secret until the christening. It’s a tradition in Denmark for the Royals.
But the naming procedure is slightly different here. We don’t name our babies as fast as Americans do. The rule is that a baby should have a name when it’s 6 months old. Most of course name their babies long before 6 months, but it’s normal to wait a few weeks after the birth to decide what name suits the baby.

Hmm. It def. makes sense that the fam. knows the name but aren’t spilling yet. And the six months thing is interesting, too.
I come from a Latino family, and trust me, I could hear the wails and tsk-tsking of my family members now if I didn’t announce my future baby’s name immediately after it was born!They’d think I was crazy
