I dont remember Jett being so TALL! I feel so old…I remember when he was four and looked like a little boy but Jett looks completely different than I pictured.

(*Unfortunately though Jet doesn’t look like how John did back in the 1970s on “Welcome Back Kotter”, “Grease”, and “Saturday Night Fever”, but I guess you can’t have everything. lol!)

I’m like most everyone else – I haven’t seen pictures of Jett since he was a little boy, so it surprised me to hear he is 15!!
He looks like he is having a great time with his mom on the beach. Definitely looks like his father!

What a nice set of pics. It’ s nice to see Kelly and Jett sharing a mother/son bonding moment. She looks great to have a teenager already! And yes, he looks like his dad but I do see a little of her in the first picture.

this is only my opinion, so please dont get angry at me.
i honestly do not think that scientology has anything to do with the travolta’s decision to seek help with their son. My 7 year old son was born with a seizure disorder and while we managed to get the seizures under control, the doctors stipulated that he has autistic mannerisms too. when we asked the specialist for help with the autism spectra of our sons problems he said there were no guarantee solutions for autism since its a wide spectrum of problems, not just one.
maybe that is what the doctors told the travoltas too. and just like jett, my 7 year old does not speak either.

Suzi, I am bit confused at your comment simply because you seem to imply that because a doctor told you “no guarantee solutions for autism since its a wide spectrum of problems, not just one” that you would not seek help for your child. Go to the home page and at the top read the Holly Robinson story of how she got her son the right care and although it took years and it was expensive she didn’t give up on the fact that even though there is no cure she could find a way to help her son progress in life. Don’t EVER give up on your children simply because a doctor tells you there is no cure. There are lots of ways to help your children and who knows with a lot of repetative behaviors your child can learn to speak and take care of himself and be as normal as possible. This is not just to you Suzi but to all the parents out there who feel hopeless or who don’t know what to do with their children. There is always something out there for you , someone out there to help you. You don’t have to chalk it up to ” he’ll always be like this because there is no cure”.

I absolutely agree, Suzi. Doctors make misdiagnosis all the time, so it may not have anything to do with Scientology. Jett may have been misdiagnosed, and the Travolta’s REALLY dont think he has autism.

OMG, Jett is huge!! I like everyone else just picture him as a little boy! Wow he and Ella look so much alike!
But as someone who has worked and knows several autistic kids (and I know this is going on one picture here) but it does look like he could have autism just by his slight mannerisms. If you notice in the second picture he’s holding his shirt and a lot of autism kids have got to constantly be holding, tugging, or pulling on something because sometimes they are fidgity. Anyways, that’s just something I tend to notice about autistic kids. I really hope though for his sake that if there is something wrong that they guide him in the right way.
I know a girl whose school has repeatedly told her parents for years that she should be tested for autism (she carries MANY signs and also her parents were both late 40′s when she was born) and now that she’s four they finally realized that maybe the school was right. However instead of helping her sooner now the child is way behind and at 4 functions at a 2 year level if that.
Anyways, it’s great to see a pic of him. I just wish it didn’t take so long (considering we see Ella all the time) But they look wonderful together!!

First off that is a great picture of Jett and Kelly together. I hope this puts to rest everyones annoying rants about how they keep Jett hidden. I don’t see a problem with a “Celebrity couple” deciding not to go public with their son’s disorder. Without lumping everyone in this next comment, I don’t understand why everyones gets upset because “They” meaning John and Kelly haven’t gone public with Jett’s disorder. Everyone seems entitled to know ~ frankly it’s no ones business but theirs. Some families choose to deal with things in their own way. I think it’s great that there’s other celebs who decide to go to the public regarding their children i.e. Jenny McCarthy, Holly Robinson Peete but not everyone wants to go public or “feels” they have too.

I remember a couple of years ago Kelly Preston did an interview about her son and she stated he was chronically sick and she took him to several different Dr’s to help but nothing was helping him. She did her own research that carpet fibers lead to her sons illness. She never stated what her sons symptons were. I only recently heard that he might be Autistic.

I have read several articles that state Jett has never spoken his first word. An owner of a restaurant, which John Travolta frequently patronizes, approached John to get advice from him on getting treatment for his own autistic daughter and he stated John was uncomfortable and looked at him in shock and stated they just expose Jett “to the arts” and he hurriedly got his family and took them out of the restaurant. The owner meant no harm, but was so desperate to find solutions to choosing treatments for his own daughter’s autism. The owner stated that when they come into the restaurant, they do not feed Jett the same food they eat; they mainly eat organic foods. While they eat, Jett sits in front of the video games and stares at them. John has never openly admitted that Jett is autistic. The treatment plans for autism usually incorporate some help from a psychiatrist, psychologist or counselor and Scientology does NOT permit this. Jett’s diet (which consists mainly of french fries, pizza and other processed foods) has contributed to his overweight condition. Many autistic children stay with only several food choices and cannot handle it (will cry, scream, etc.) when new foods are introduced. It makes me sad when I’ve read that six pediatricians have diagnosed Jett with autism, but the Travoltas will not accept the diagnosis, so Jett has never had any care geared toward dealing with his autism. Actually, it doesn’t just make me sad, it enrages me, for the child has no choice in the matter.

Jett got big, and he looks just like John and Ella. I saw a recnt pic of Ella, she is a beauty. Kelly looks awesome in a bikini, at 44 and after 2 kids.

I have seen a picture of Jett with Kelly where he is walking on his toes, and if that is not a clear sign of autism than I don’t know what is. I have worked with autistic children as a teacher and it is true that they become very upset if they don’t eat the same foods that they want to eat. It’s also interesting that Jett is holding onto his shirt in the second picture. It’s nice to see some pictures of Jett as he has grown older. We haven’t really seen him since he was little.

Finally, clear evidence Jett Travolta is alive! I did suspect something was not quite right with Jett health-wise, and looking at those pictures it does look like he has some sort of disability or health issue. If anyone can find a picture of Jett when he was like 4 years old and compare the way he looked back then to now (i.e., alert, facial expression, etc.).
Whatever reason(s) John and Kelly have for not fully disclosing their son’s health or physical issues, that’s their prerogative, but as I said before, the more celebrities come out with saying they have a child with a disability or health issue, the better as it does bring publicity to these issues.

Yes, I know its harsh, but from reading the Robinson-Peet story to this, it’s a disgrace that they have all the resources but some bipolar idiot who did not believe in psychology has effected this child’s ability to recieve help…maybe he should go to the “jesus” of Scientology Tom Cruise and ask for a miracle healing…

like i stated before those were only my opinions, and i appreciate all the comments you all wrote. but i never once stated that i gave up on my child because of one doctors diagnosis. my child is 7 and in those 7 years we have seen 10 different neurologists, 2 different pediatriticians, 4 physical therapists, 3 speech therapists, 2 occcupational therapists, 6 school teachers in one classroom. we travel 150 miles one way to see a specialist once every 2 months. my husband is a delivery truck driver and i am a cashier at a department store. we are not rich and famous by any means.
ive been there done that with my child and in no way have ever given up on him at all, thats why i praise the travoltas for what they do with their child. every one of the posts state that they havent seen jett in along time… one magazine states that scientology will not permit them to seek help? how do we know that they havent seeked help? just because they chose to raise their son privately? and deal with their sons problems privately? hooo ray for them!!! i am not trying to offend anyone here for their words, but i did get a little offended that someone would assume that i had given up on my child. never in a million years. i apologize if i have offended anyone. thank you

I work with special needs kids, many of them are on the autism spectrum. I have so much love in my heart for them that it’s really hard for me not to be angry at parents who don’t search and fight for answers, then take appropriate steps so that the kids can have the best possible chance in life. I know it’s possible that the reports aren’t true – but if John and Kelly aren’t putting Jett first in seeking a diagnosis and having a plan for Jett’s life, they’re doing him a massive disservice.

Usually though autistic children do not like to be touched. He is clearly holding onto his mother in the second picture and doesn’t seem to have a problem with that. That is unusual and either he has a mild case of autism or it is a misdiagnosis and something else is going on. Regardless of what it is, treatment should be encouraged whether its behavior modifications and spirituality mixed with a little psychology or medication…it should be no holds barred when it comes to your children. A parent is not a parent if they are not pushing on everyone or anything that could possibly help their child. When your child is afflicted with something that is not clear, its not a time to take the passive approach…mom and dad do anything it takes and sacrafice anything and I mean anything for your child. If we can run in front of a bus and push the child out of harms way then surely we could sacrifice a couple of angry scienctologist(who are just people like you and me by the way) and seek help for psychologist, psychiatrist, God, or the next door neighbor’s pet snake if it helps…AND if the scienctologists get mad but you find a cure or atleast shed some light on the issue, then isn’t it worth it. Autism isn’t just one disorder, but a spectrum of different symptoms and severities. My son has Asperger’s syndrome, in which he was comfortable showing affection to and receiving touches from 2 or 3 especially close family members. He spoke, but several words had meaning to him only, and some I could figure out what they meant, but unless you were in frequent contact with him, you wouldn’t know. He actually desired social interaction after age 7 or 8 but didn’t understand appropriate ways to initiate or maintain contact. He is now a married man and new father, and has been steadily employed at one job for nearly 2 years, but it took years of in and outpatient therapy, OT/PT, family therapy to teach how to best help him and in his father’s case, accept the diagnosis, and special schools throughout his education, with vocational programs being best fit for him.He still prefers to have something in his hands at all times,but his speech is normal, his intellectual function is high, his walk and other physical aspects have lost their awkwardness, and he seeks out friends and socializes regularly, but does have times he needs to be by himself, which his wife has learned to anticipate and accept. Jett seems to have some qualities like my son, but it’s a hard thing to pinpoint exactly what each persons needs are, more of a trial and error type of thing. John may be having trouble letting go of the boy he dreamed he’d raise, it took my ex years.

Thank you for that link Snapper. Whoa, what changes in Jett over the years, and there was one near the end that was a bit shocking (sitting cross-legged in the golf cart). It sure was evident Jett had changed from a smiling, alert child to one hiding under hoodies and not looking anywhere but down. Yes, maybe that’s a surly teenager who just wants to be left alone, but somehow I doubt it. The Travoltas love to show off Ella, and she enjoys the attention. Not Jett.

That last photo, of Jett and Kelly is actually nice to see. I don’t think there is any doubt that she loves her children, just if she and her husband are getting the right treatment for their son who might be autistic.

According to several psychologists and psychiatrists, the one symptom that seems to be 99% consistent with autism is some form of adversity to touch. Could there be something else going on with Jett. I feel bad for them that they have been to so many doctors that have not offered them any other possibilities. A friend of mine in the profession seems to agree with the Travolta theory that it is very possible that the chemicals from the carpet could have caused some brain damage. Regardless it is clear there is alot of Gods’s love there.

Not every autistic child has a problem with touching. I have a 7 yr. old nephew who is autistic and loves to hug. And he is not mildly autistic. My sister in law also denied that her son was autistic that his lack of social skills was due to him being a boy in a family with two older sisters. Unfortunately, it took her death from cancer earlier this year to open my brother in law’s eyes and he finally brought his son to specialists. If you refuse to accept diagnosis and get early treatment, what are you setting up your child for later in life? My nephew was denied early intervention and he is low functioning. I feel bad that if Jett was diagnosed with Autism that the Travolta family accept it and get him the help he needs. It may be too late for him due to his age.

I am the same age as John Travolta and have followed his career. He is talented in many ways. I follow a different spiritual path, but I have read RL Hubbard. There is nothing false about the basic tenets of scientology. I personally balk at all Dogma. I love Oprah. Such a close friend of hers must be a great guy. Period. I have a son who looked so much like John, by the time he was a teenager, that people might have speculated about his paternity, if they didn’t know us. People constantly told us how much he looked like John Travolta. He looked much more like John, than Jett, at 16. I guess, loving my son might even prejudice me.
But, we also ended up adopting and raising 2 grandchildren, in our late forties. Our grandson, who we got at 1 month, was disabled with cerebral palsy and also had a history of seizures. We fought a continual battle, first trying to get an accurate diagnosis and THEN trying to find ANY kind of helpful therapy. On October 13th 2008, our precious 5 yr old “son” passed away, in his bed. I have nothing but empathy for John and Kelly. I was saddened to read so much angry critisism of and ignorant speculation about the Travolta family. I only wanted to see a recent picture of Jett, to try and make a sincere, emotional, psycho/spritual connection and send them some healing energy. I hope now that Jett has passed, some of you will check yourselves.

I was saddened to hear about the death of Jett. I had to find a photo of him and this is where I found one. I was reading the comments and just found out he might be autistic.He is built and looks alot like my son does. My son is autistic and also 16 years old. I couldn’t imagine living my life without him like they are going to have to. Regardless of the reports that they didn’t acknowledge that Jett had autisum and didn’t get him help from doctors for it. That wouldn’t have saved him that day he died. I would have liked to have known that they did have an autistic child though. It’s not something to be embarrasssed about.

Who gives any of us the right to diagnose someone elses child that we have never met. They seemed to love thier children very much and I am sure they tried to do everything they could, his diet, the house, and who knows what else. Just as most loving parents would. Maybe we should keep our rude comments to ourselves.

I was so saddened to hear of the death of Jett Travolta. My heart goes out to his parents and sister. As a mother of two I cannot imagine how they must be suffering. I think sometimes we need to be a little more tolerant of peoples belief’s and life choices. Its obvious from pictures that they love their children. We are all entitled to privacy and if they chose not to share details of their son’s illness , it could simply be the fact that it was to painful for them to talk about. I don’t believe in the COS but like everyone else in the United States they are entitled to freedom of religion. My heart and prayers go out to them . May they find comfort in each other.
