dont get me wrong i like debra but why is a three year old in a stroller

Why would a three year old be in a stroller: They were in NYC so who knows how many blocks they were walking. It is also faster to get around the city with a youngster who is in a stroller. A three year old will only walk for so long and then they will say “Mommy carry me I’m tired.” If the child is heavy it is easier to put them in a stroller. When my three girls were young I would put them in a wagon and pull them around. When we got to a park they would get out and play and then ride home in their wagon.

not all 3yr olds are the same.

I have very active kids who never were very willing to hold hands.

The stroller was essential for when they wouldn’t hold my hand (but since they could and would when they felt like it, the toddler leash was no longer given as an option) and were either too heavy to wear in a wrap/mei-tai or carry or if I wasn’t up to wearing/carrying them that day.

Also, in a busy city, I feel it’s safer for a child to be contained. Would you want him getting hit by a car? Snatched by an obsessed fan or stranger? No, of course you wouldn’t. Neither would his mom, so she’s being safe.

Also, a child that age can get tired easily (Roman does look tired… look at his eyes) and a stroller gives them a break even when they’re very good at holding hands and walking.

Roman also appears to be tall and big for his age, so I am sure it’s not an easy task to carry him.

I will NEVER understand the comments I constantly see about 3/4/5 year olds in strollers. Do you have ANY idea how much walking a person does in NYC? Little kids get tired very fast, not to mention it would take forever to get anywhere if you always had to walk at their slow pace.

It’s not a friggin big deal, people! In fact it’s just a way of life here.
