Paul Rudd on his son Jack's addiction to TiVo

While promoting his upcoming film, Knocked Up, starring Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen, actor Paul Rudd shared some stories about his 2-year-old son Jack with Entertainment Weekly.  Jack’s mother is Paul’s wife of four years, stay-at-home-mom Julie Yaeger.Paul is best known for his roles in such films as Clueless, The 40-year-old Virgin, and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.  Oh, and let’s not forget that little TV show Friends, where he played Phoebe’s husband Mike Hannigan. Paul says he is completely comfortable not playing the lead roles and that he never wants to become a super-famous A-lister, because that’s not what he wants for himself or his family.

I just want a nice life with my wife and kid and work on things that are fun and challenging, y’know?

Paul admits to an addiction to combining technology and entertainment, which he has passed along to Jack. He says the pair of them are total TiVo junkies.

I am total victim of technology.  At a hotel if we miss something on TV, Jack says, "Again!" to tell me to rewind like we do at home.

He and Jack also spend their free time emulating rockers. Paul says the two of them spend their days picking songs to use for their air-guitar sessions.

He loves Loudon Wainwright III.  He’s really into The Shin’s new record. Last week he was terrified of a Nickelback song, and now he loves it. Though I don’t readily admit that.

Another thing Paul admits to passing on are real life stories that he in turn uses for his film projects.  His Knocked Up director and pal, Judd Apatow, used Paul’s real-life refusal to read baby books during his wife’s pregnancy for the movie’s story line.
