Wow… she looks so uncomfortable and looks to have gained a lot of weight thus far. It is nice to see Celebrities look like we do when we are pregnant… Best of Luck to her.

- Andrea on

You go girl! I think she looks beautiful I am so sick of seeing these celebs that are pregnant and anorexic skinny. It is so refreshing to see a star embrace her pregnancy and looks like she is dealing with the same problems most of us do water retention etc..
I wish her all the best!

- Elisabeth on

I agree with you Elisabeth – Good on her! I just hope it doesn’t cause her trouble in her pregnancy. Like Gestational Diabetes and such…

- Audrey on

Holy cow, what’s up with her legs? I gained 65 lbs with my first pregnancy, but it surely didn’t show like that! I feel sorry for her, she looks uncomfortable already!

- Keila on

Oh man! She looks miserable! She also looks as if she’s gonna drop quadruplets!

- Brynnan on

She’s gained far too much weight for this pregnancy, as evidenced by her legs. There’s a balance between Hollywood stick thin and just plain obese.

She’s surely not obese! Looks like a combination of being short, having big boobs, water retention, AND weight gain to us.

- Kristina on

That looks more like a poorly photo-shopped image of Salma’s face on someone else’s body (look at the line under the chin.)

Sarah’s note: It’s a real photo. I’ve seen all the pics from this set.

- Joy on

Don’t a few of the above comments qualify as disrespectful and insulting??? I’m surprised CBB posted them, to be quite honest.

I think Salma’s beautiful, “huge” legs and all.

The only comment that would cause an issue the post inferring that she’s obese, which we made a comment under. It may not have shown up yet.

- a.j. on

Everyone’s different. Im 5’4 im not tall at all. I have a cousin I grew up with she is 5’1 maybe 5’2 and she gained alot while pregnant. I didn’t get big except tummy wise, and maybe a bit puffy. Geez she is not obese. If a pregnant women is considered “obese” because she is very pregnant. Then people are just plain cruel. She is very beautiful:).

- Callen on

She looks great. I love her dress.

- terri on

So when is that baby due anyway? I have heard as far along as delivering this summer or in another article she was getting married in December, right after the baby’s birth. If that is true her baby should weigh about 50 lbs. She has gained way to much weight and could have complications with her pregnancy just d/t weight gain. She has to exercise a little control over herself or not wear such unflattering maternity wear. Considering she is marrying a billionare couldn’t she just have clothes made for her? Some of her non-pregnant outfits have been beautiful but I have yet to see her in a maternity outfit that is not butt ugly. I doubt she has ben having any trouble with her pregnancy yet, as she is allowed to travel across the pond to France. That kind of weight gain is not going to just fall off.

- Lexi on

I had a friend who became very puffy (you could see it in her face including her lips) and had a lot of water retention while pregnant. She was thin before having the baby. She didn’t eat healthy while pregnant. Once she had the baby, she went back to her normal thin self.

I was really worried about her while pregnant. Did I say anything to her? No way! She went to regular dr’s appointments and they would catch it if there was a problem.

Some women just gain weight all over and/or have lots of water retention.

- Charity on

OMG we better call the police–Salma Hayek is a normal woman…she’s havin a baby and she’s actually gained weight–OMG NO WAY! Seriously–the fact that people are even talking about this makes me ill–Salma looks beautifull–she’s PREGNANT…there’s a human being inside of her and she’s quite far along for that matter–and if I hear someone say again that she’s OBESE, I will scream–every woman and every BODY is different…some get bigger than others–WHO CARES…she looks perfectly normal–god forbid a pregnant woman not a pound over 125 and looking fit and trim…Salma looks completely normal and gorgeous and for there even to be a mention of anything otherwise is ridiuclous–and the comments about her legs–seriously can we be that catty? To be sitting here making comments about the way her LEGS look?! In a day and age when young girls are being told the skinnier the better and that being anything more than stick thin is just not cool…we should know better than to make such comments…ESPECIALLY about someone who is pregnant for pete’s sake…

Salma looks BEAUTIFUL and I can’t wait to see that gorgeous baby…

- Megan on

My legs were hugely swollen with water retention (edema) during the last couple months of my pregnancy. I only gained 29lbs so I imagine most of that was water!!

I think she looks great considering she must feel icky.

- Lorus on

For some reason, I knew my comment of the LEGS, would upset someone. I wasn’t being catty at all though. I do think she is beautiful and normal, unlike other actresses and models setting the new standard out there. But I have to say that, in my opinion, she has “let herself go” since she first announced her pregnancy, just as I did with my first. It’s just something strange to see in hollywood these days and that’s why it caught my eye. Sorry if it was offensive to anyone, it is though, JUST A COMMENT.

- Keila on

She is so HUGE!!! Much bigger then most celebrities when they were as far a long as she is. I have the same body type as Salma, same boob size, hip form, hight etc…so I am worried I might look like her when I become pregnant one day:-)! I am gonna have such a hard time losing all that weight again.

- miss_Jolie on

Everyone gains weight and loses weight differently. Eat healthy, exercise, drink water, and be grateful for a healthy child.

I think the fact that she’s in a black dress on a black background gives the illusion she may be bigger to some folks. She is bigger in the thighs and boobs. It isn’t the best camera angle. And she is absolutely not obese.

I always think she’s a knock-out.

- sarawara on

She’s short–there’s nowhere for all of that baby to go. I’m short, so I totally sympathize, it’s very rough in the later months when you’re petite and un-used to carrying around a lot of extra weight.

It’s also summer now and hot outside. Maybe this is causing more water retention. Maybe she has gestational diabetes. Who knows? Not all women look glorious while pregnant, and it doesn’t mean they’ve “let themselves go”. You can’t always control how much weight you gain.

I know it’s not PC to say, some women just don’t look good while pregnant (though I think Salma looks fine actually–she’s big, but her face isnt distorted or anything). Some women react differently to hormones and look pregnant in their face, legs, boobs more that other women do. You can only control how you look up to a point–Mother Nature has her own ideas for you sometimes and you just have to let go of your ego and grow a baby. It’s only 9 months and you can diet/exercise more once the baby is born. This is the wrong thing to focus on.

- PSB on

Ooh. Poor Salma. She’s so used to being glamourous and now she looks like a giant balloon ready to pop. When is she due?

Sometime this summer. She hasn’t said when.

- NausiccaofWind on

She looks pretty no matter what.

- MsCarla on

Every pregnant woman, famous or not, can’t look like Nancy o’ Dell.

- Sheri on

Salma at 40yrs old, is prettier than half the woman her age who are considered beautiful IMO. She is not obese, just a pregnant woman who isn’t rail thin with a small belly like some celebrities are. She has always had a curvy body, never been a size 2 type, so yea she will get bigger while pregnant than say someone like Angelina Jolie did. I always liked her as an actress and I had the pleasure of meeting her, she is a totaly sweetheart and down to earth. Not to mention has beautiful skin and hair. Can’t wait to see her baby, and I’m sure she will get back into shape just like people like kate hudson who gained 60lbs while pregnant did.

- Gianna on

I think the picture just captures an awkward moment because she does appear uncomfortable in that picture and in other pictures she looks more comfortable and carries her pregnancy well.

And to comments about her legs: I think it is mostly the choice of dress which may not be the most flattering for most people.

I think she looks beautiful and glowing and can’t wait to see pictures of her beautiful baby! ( I think she’ll have a girl)

- yaosa on

When is that baby due. I’ve heard she is anywhere from 4-5 months pregnant to 7 months. I hate dissing a pregnant woman but with all of the money she has and her fiance has can’t she find something better to wear. I used to think she had great style but I have yet to se her in a stylin pregnancy outfit with the exception of the black velvetgown she wore to some NYC event. That is not water weight my friend, she has gained an obscene amount of weight and she had better be careful as weight gain alone can cause pregnancy problems. Push yourself away from the table Salma.

- lexi on

Okay, I’ve looked at the photo again and again, and I just see a very pregnant woman out and about. I know the black dress blending into the background isn’t helping any but she doesn’t look so much uncomfortable as she does looking at something off-camera as she’s getting out of a vehicle, which she seems to have done.

Beside that, even with the added weight, she looks good. And if she is battling fatigue and water retention, bless her. But she still looks good and at least she’s still going out and doing as she pleases, even if she happens to be feeling less than comfortable at the moment. :)

- FC on

Oh, bless her little pregnant heart, for being a NORMAL pregnant woman! Woman’s bodies react differently to pregnancy, and differently with each baby! It just makes me feel better about MY pregnant body: Due with my 2nd (a boy!) any second now and I am SO grossly swollen! Didn’t swell AT ALL with my 1st and only gained 28 lbs….So, go Salma!

- Candace on

Mental Note: No short dresses while pregnant.

- peggyloo on

Yes, she has gained quite a bit of weight but it’s not *that* bad at all. Salma is very short and unfortunately, short women are more prone to look bigger when they gain a certain amount of weight than tall ones. She is just a normal woman who probably enjoys her food a bit more than usual now that she’s pregnant. Good for her! She can always go on a diet once the baby is born and when she finishes breastfeeding (if she chooses to breastfeed, which I hope). She is still beautiful, thin or not.

- pink.lioness on

Salma looks beautiful but uncomfortable.

Kristina – ‘Just plain obese’??? You’re joking right?

There is something very wrong if you can look at a pregnant woman and start judging her weight gain in such an offensive way. You’re right that there is a balance between stick thin and plain obese but Salma seems to have always maintained a healthy weight and I think it is pretty safe to say this is pregnancy weight, water retention and big boobs. Sorry to be blunt but your comment reads to me as judgemental and rude. JMO.
