I was hoping he would have Frank Lampard III. At least this Football player is with the mother of his children, unlike the American Footballer Tom Brady who's got a pregnant ex and rumoured to be marrying another. Good for the Lampards.

Congrats to the whole family. Their choice of names is so interesting. Luna means Moon and Isla means Island in Spanish. I love the name Frank - we named our son Frank after my grandpa.

VBAC, natural, epidural or elected C-section - who cares? Stop judging other women and worry about yourself.

Just to say - I do agree that women are crazy to choose a c-section when there is no medical need for one. That said, if Elen went into labour on Saturday evening and Isla wasn't delivered until 1.52pm on Sunday it does sound like she tried to have a natural birth first. In any case, if mum & baby are both well then that's all that matters now.

Stephanie: "Choose" is the key word here. Elective C-sections should not be a choice! I feel that doctors should refuse to do C-sections unless they are MEDICALLY NECCESARY.

my opinion is when it comes to c-section VS natural birth, there shouldn't be any bashing AT ALL. how a woman choose to deliver her child shouldn't be judged.

I am very happy for the family! I am wondering one thing, however? Does anyone know why she had a C-section and/or if it was planned? I certainly hope she didn't simply choose to have one. One of my major pet peeves is celebrities that choose MAJOR ABDOMINAL SURGERY to deliver their babies just because they are "too posh to push". Now, I'm not saying that is what Elen did. Perhaps Isla was breech or labor stalled or Isla's heart rate dropped. It could even be possible that Luna had to be delivered by C-section and Elen's doctors (if she is Luna's mother, that is. I am unsure whether she is the mom or if the mom is an ex-girlfriend or wife of Frank) did not feel comfortable doing a VBAC. I am just saying that I sure hope she didn't chose it as "the easy way out". Personally, I think that, when a celeb has a C-section, CBB should explain the reason why if details are available. That at least might help prevent a lot of these threads turning into Vaginal vs. C-section births, as well as cut down on any needless celeb bashing.

We do explain the reason if it's available -- for example, Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie's children were breech, and Brooke Shields failed to dilate past 3 cm.

In this case, Elen had a repeat c-section as she chose an elective one with Luna in 2005 so that her 93 year old grandmother could see the baby. You can read more about that in the post about Luna's birth -- Footballer Frank Lampard welcomes daughter.
