Creations By Mamapatrice: A Child's Couture Company

Beautiful, original, and sometimes even one of a kind, Creations By Mamapatrice is a children’s couture company with a touch of years gone by, mixed with modern trends.

Designer Patrice Mitchell, a mother of 4, started her venture to create special sets for her daughters, but found that it fulfilled her need for self-expression. The head-turning collections are sewn by Patrice herself and are absolutely delightful.  Her clothing lines are produced as limited editions, from one item to at most twelve of the same design so you can be assured that you are not going to run into 20 kids wearing the same dress or shirt your child is wearing.

Sized from 12 months to 6 toddler, there are dresses, blouses, tee shirts, kimonos and pants. Currently she has collections for both girls and boys, plus a line of accessories (including dreamy hats and hair clips) to match. Her handiwork is stunning.  The stitching and attention to detail on the garments are perfect.   

Don’t miss her romantic cloche hats that match her gorgeous dresses. I really liked the fact that you could pick the options for clothes; the tee shirts can be ordered with short, long or tank sleeves; the pants can be ordered as cropped or full length.

I checked out two items from the China Toys Line: The China Doll Tee ($27.99) is an adorable embellished tee with a picture of a Chinese baby doll, that is a must-have for your little girl. Dress it up with the funky China Toys pants ($49.99) or skirt (84.99) — a fun and trendy Asian print with a polka dot trim.

The Toile Polka Dot blouse ($59.99) (pictured above) would work on the playground or at a fancy party. This striking print cotton blouse has cap sleeves and a polka dot trim. You can get this in either a capped tank sleeve or a short sleeve peasant top. You will also want to check out her other collections for girls: Silk Luxe, Vintage Sweet, XOXO, Vintage Chic Hanky, Butterfly Kisses and Old Paris. There is even an "Under Collection" to wear under dresses or pants.

The boys’ clothes are very cute.  I liked her Kimono tops and pants (which could be for the gals too) in the Masquerade Dot and Urban Kung Fu prints. There are also tees with the Masquerade Dot or Urban Kung Fu fabric hand-appliqued ($25.99) onto it.
