Rumor: Victoria Beckham desperate to get sons into elite Beverly Hills school

Upon moving to Los Angeles, Victoria Beckham has been desperately trying to get her boys Brooklyn, 8; Romeo, 4; and Cruz, 2, into a private school in Beverly Hills. Victoria apparently even compared herself to the character Bree Van De Camp, from Desperate Housewives, saying:

I’ve had to turn myself into Bree. It’s so hard getting into a private school in Beverly Hills. As a parent you feel like you’re on trial. I’ve been having to promise to do loads for the school and David has offered to give the pupils some football lessons. I’m just worried that my cupcakes won’t be up to standard!

Hopefully all the hard work pays off!

Football lessons? Are they mad? That is a school, besides being private, and why should some student’s parents give lessons there, no matter what kind of lessons! Then they say they want their kids to be brought up as any other…gimme a break.

Parents volunteer to coach kids’ soccer teams all the time. Beckham did so in the UK and Madrid. Why wouldn’t he offer to do so in the US? He is a professional player after all and probably more qualified then their PhysEd instructor.

I like that their money can’t buy their way in and that they’re prepared to go the extra mile for their kids just like most other parents.

I agree with Lilybett. And if you know Victoria’s sense of humor, she’s taking the piss about the cupcakes and stuff. The boys have finally got a nice school.

Damn… I’d sure turn into a soccer mom real quick if David Beckham was teaching my kid.

- Lorus on

She strikes me as VERY uppity.

- TwinMom on

Haha Lorus, I agree!!

I believe this is an older picture, but I’m shocked she’s actually smiling!!

TwinMom: I believe that in time you will find that Posh is very self deprecating & down to earth.

I love the cupcakes quote… adorable. I met her back in September 2006 – she is SO unbelieveably nice!

- Melissa on

well, if her cupcakes don’t turn out, maybe their chef, if they have 1, can whip up some nice ones…

TwinMom- I totally agree with you– there is nothing “down-to-earth” about VB! And, yes- the pic is from 2 yrs. ago right after David’s affair scandal hit the papers– she went to watch a match and made sure to “smile” to let the “world” know that everything was a-ok between them… false, false, false…

- Lilly on

Sure, because it was the single only time she smiled in public. *rolls eyes* She was photographed laughing just yesterday, gee, wonder what David did this time.

Have you met her, Lilly? Because the people I know who has would beg to differ. Many even say she’s the nicest celeb they’ve ever met.

This takes me back to my own school. I went to a public school for the gifted. I used to work in the office and parents would call to say they just had a baby and could we put the baby on the list for the pre-K interview. One woman even called before the baby was born!
Hilarious!

The Beckhams are coming to L.A. from the top-notch British school system. There it is easy to find regular public schools just as good as those “difficult to get in” private schools in the USA. Can you imagine what private schools in Britain are like if their regular schools are that good?

No wonder Victoria is in a tizzy and pulling out all the stops trying to get her kids into the best school so they can continue at the same level of quality education they got in Britain. Her situation shows even money and fame can’t buy your way on the enrollment list in L.A. when your competition could be the child of Sharon Stone, George Lucas, Robin Williams, or whatever top star in the area has kids the same age. She didn’t have that kind of star competition in England.

By the way, isn’t that why Gwyneth Paltrow decided she wanted her kids to go to school in Britain? The quality of education is unbeatable there.

The boys go to school in Madrid, Spain. Not England.

this pair bore me, but I don’t believe anything they say anymore, they’ve told so many lies to the public only fools would listen to what they say

LIE 1
VB told millions of viewers on national TV that she had never had a boob jot
Truth: she has actually had 3

LIE 2
DB’s affair with Rebecca Loos – they both lied desparately to sweep this under the carpet in order to protect Brand Beckham

LIE 3
DB reported fantastic celebrity salary offer from Galaxy of £125 million, in fact it has been reported to be £5 million

Shall I continue?

Anyone would be foolish to believe the hype the Beckham’s spurt out in order to increase their image – desparate pair, but I guess it keeps their noses in the trough, although it does not say much for their integrity, loyalty, self respect & respect for the public
