Billy-Ray Burton traumatized by Harry Potter

Splashnews_iluk290407a_003_cbbBilly-Ray Burton, 3 1/2, son of Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter, won’t be among the millions of kids seeing Helena as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix this summer after a slightly nerve-wracking experience with the third film. As part of research for her role, Helena let Billy-Ray, whose godfather is Johnny Depp, join her for a viewing of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and he barely got through the opening minutes.
It was the one where his aunt blows up into a huge balloon and floats out of the window. That was really traumatic! It was a mistake.
The actress is enjoying motherhood and says it has made her more relaxed, which she attributes to living in her native London.
There are a lot of good things about [motherhood]. Only good, really. Definitely [helps not living in LA]. No, don’t like that place. Neither of us do. He hates it – even though he was born there, he couldn’t wait to get out, I think. LA is so boring. There is a monotony to it.
Tim has also made a habit out of filming in London and hiring British actors and crew members – something for which Helena hopes he’ll get on the British honours list so she and Billy-Ray can reap some title perks.
Then I could be a Lady and Billy could be the half-honourable Billy Burton.

Well yeah he would be tramatic! The 3rd movie came out in June 2004, just about 3 years ago, he would have been 6 months old!

He saw it on video, not in the theater. :)

Heads up, parents: 3 and half years old is too too too young to go to a Harry Potter movie. AND, for many little ones, ANY movie.

yeah three is waaay too young fpr HP movies. Love, love, love Helen Bonahm Carter though. She is amazingly talented.

I like Helena already since ‘Room with a view’ back in the Eighties…
but I can see how the HP movies, while funny, would be too much for a 3 year old. They are, what, cert 12? And some scenes are quite scary.
‘LA is so boring’, well I don’t know about that but I always thought it was a really exciting place to live :-)

i dont think 3 is to young to watch HP both my kids love it. my son started watching them about 2 or so and we took when he was about 2 1/2 to see Azkaban in the theaters and it didnt bother him at all and i was kinda worried and prepared to leave. my daugher is almost 3 (aug) and has been watching HP her whole life and loves them i think it just depends on the kid

cant wait to see her in the new movie but i wont be seeing it in the theaters cause im sure it would be to scary for my kiddies

I find it funny that Tim Burtons son was scared by Harry Potter.
