Update: Anthony Bourdain welcomes a daughter

Update: Baby’s name is Ariane. Tony and Ottavia were married on April 20th.

Originally posted April 21st: Chef Anthony Bourdain, 50, author/novelist, host of the Travel Channel’s No Reservations and former executive chef at NYC’s Les Halles, and his Italian girlfriend Ottavia Busia welcomed their first child, a daughter, on April 9th. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 9 oz. Anthony posted on the No Reservations forum with the news and to say that she’s ‘beautiful.’ He did not, however, share a name.

I was wondering if any celeb babies would share a bithday with my son. CONGRATS to Anthony and his girlfriend! I love his show!

Finn Henry was born April 9th 2007 at 8:40 am. He weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 20 in. long. He was 3 weeks early and had some problem (needed to be on a ventilator and have a chest tube for a collapsed lung). He is just perfect now though.

I AM SHOCKED!

I am a huge fan of his and was so sad for him when he got divorced from his wife of 20+ years. He said in many interviews that they divorced because he loves to travel and can’t stay in one place. I wonder if having a baby will make him stay home more? For my sake, I hope it doesn’t (because I love his show) but for his family’s sake….maybe he can take some time off.

The real question is: Will Tony quit chain-smoking now that he has a baby?

Ariane is a cute name. I still cannot believe he’s married with a kid now. Makes me a little sad for his ex-wife, but these things always seem to happen, right?

Anyway, I love Tony and hope he’s happier now. He was so maudlin on his show last season (he said b/c of his divorce), instead of his usual salty, funny self.

I love him!! He is such a talented chef and author. If you haven’t read any of his books, I am telling you, you have to. Kitchen Confidential, A Cooks Tour and Nasty Bits were great reads. Congrats Anthony on the birth of your daughter.
