Julia Roberts' brainy babes

Julia_roberts_042607_01_cbbActress Julia Roberts, 39, took her twins Hazel Patricia and Finn Walter, 2 1/2, to check out the Dora exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan on April 28th — and they loved it. So much so that the twins thanked the staff as they were leaving — in Spanish!

Uh, well, it may be because they are with their nanny all the time?

- Jennifer on

Or it could be b/c they are learning basic spanish words and phrases by watching Dora??

Sarah’s note: That’s what I thought, since they were in the exhibit for awhile! Could be their nanny too, but if they still have the same one, she’s African-American, not Hispanic — although of course she could still know Spanish!

Is their nanny Latina? If she isn’t, it’s probably due to Dora or “Go Diego Go”. My daughter is speaking Spanish and learning it because of those shows. :)

- Jennie on

My daughter loves Dora and Diego and often says words in Spanish that she has picked up from their shows.

I wonder if anyone will mention Danny Moder’s ex wife, Vera and how she feels about this. The one who was married to him when Julia started dating him.

No? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Still, cute kids.

- hmmm on

Their nanny could be Dominican or something like that, in which case she might look African-American.

True! This is a pic of them with Marva, the nanny.

The younger children are, the easier they learn. Couldn’t it be that Julia and Danny deliberately try to teach their kids (in whatever way they might do that) Spanish as a second language? They might already have a Spanish ‘teacher’, or learn from kids’ language DVDs, who knows?

My kids said basic spanish words ALLLL the time when they watched Dora, then the Dora phase ended and they don’t speak it anymore. I tried to keep it going but all the spanish I know was learned from Dora too so it was very limited.

To “hmmmm”:

I definitely agree the way they got together is skanky, but if it makes you feel any better, Moder’s ex-wife Vera got together with some younger, hotter, foreign (Argentinian?) guy and has her own baby with him. I think he was an old friend and after she got divorced, they hooked up. She may be pregnant with #2 by now for all I know–I don’t keep tabs on her, just remember reading in a magazine once a few years ago.

She’s probably not doing too much thinking about Danny and Julia at this point in her life. Good for her!

Julia and Danny spend most of their time in New Mexico where there is a large Hispanic population. That is most likely why their kids are learning Spanish. It is almost a necessity to learn Spanish in that part of the country because of the large Hispanic population.

Wow. Why is it that every single post about a celebrity turns judgamental? If it’s not the parenting skills, it’s how the parents met, whether or not they’re married ect. ect.

I know people have a right to their opinon but sometimes it’s really annoying coming on here and seeing so many negative posts.
Sorry if this offends anyone, and you can delete it if needs be.

- Aura on

She does live in New Mexico, they do talk Spanish over there, don’t they??
