Jaime Pressly welcomes her baby boy

Jaime Pressly and her fiance Eric Calvo (aka DJ Eric Cubiche) have welcomed their son. Dezi James Calvo was born at 7:31 this morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, weighing in at 6 lbs, 4 oz, and was 18 1/2 inches long. Jaime was three days past her due date — and ready to give birth.

Jaime’s publicist told CBS ShowBuzz, ‘One thing she did say when she gave me all the details is, ‘This kid is gorgeous,’ and Jaime’s ‘great.’

Congrats to Jamie, she seemed very excited through out her pregnancy. I love the name too, it’s different but not weird.

Yeah, Congrats! I have been waiting for an announcement since she was a few day’s overdue.

I too have been checking in to see if she’d delivered yet. So glad that little Dezi is here now! Congrats!

Congrats to the new parents! Can’t wait to see a picture.

On a side note: Can anybody explain what her fiance’s real name is? I’m totally confused. Since when is he called Eric Calvo? I’ve never seen that name before. Did he change it or something?

Sarah’s note: Eric’s last name is Calvo. Cubiche is his DJ name- Jaime says it’s Cuban slang for homeboy.

Her publicist was certainly quick to get the announcement to People mag. Just more fuel to my assertion that she has really be using this pregnancy for publicity plus. Regardless though – congrats to Jamie and her fiance on the arrival of a healthy baby.

Aw he was tiny. How cute. I’ve never had a baby that small so I think they are so adorable.
Congrats to both on them on their healthy(tiny) baby boy!!!

aww she finally has given birth! Cant wait to see him! Congrats Jamie!!!

Thanks for the name explanation Sarah.

Calvo sounds much better than Cubiche IMO. Why would anybody opt for a harder-to-pronounce name for a stage name?

Desi Calvo sounds nice.

Note from Danielle: I am guessing that Cubiche is not hard to pronounce if you’re Cuban or use this word in your regular speech.

meanwhile, does anyone know how nancy o’dell is going?

Aww, she finally had him! Congrats to her and Eric, and I’m sure little Dezi is a little heartbreaker-in-training. :)

My name is also Dezi. Except mine is spelt Desi. Im a female though. People always pronounce it “DC” which I think is funny.

- Desi on

Congrats to them! I cant wait to see pictures.

Madison, how can you say she is using the pregnancy for publicity? That is a horrible thing to accuse someone of. I’m sure her publicist was so on the ball because everyone knew she was over due.
