Jane Fonda compliments Felicity Huffman's parenting skills

Felicity Huffman‘s role in Georgia Rule as a detached alcoholic mother couldn’t be further from the type of parent she’s like in real life. Felicity has two daughters, Sofia, 6 1/2, and Georgia, 5, with husband William H. Macy, and according to co-star Jane Fonda, the girls are very well-behaved, a testament, she says, to their parents.

I know the two girls. These are really fabulouslywell-adjusted kids. These are not movie-star kids. These are good, solid kids who can tell you they don’t watch television because it willspoil their imagination.

Meanwhile, Felicity concedes it was difficult for her to get into a character who shows little care for her child.

She betrays her daughter and sells her daughter’s well-being for herown addiction and convenience, so that’s not that familiar [to me].She’s tormented and profoundly lonely. I don’t knowwhere I drew on it. You know, the pain everyone’s in all the time.
