A son for Greg Vaughan and Touriya Haoud – introducing Jathan James

Update: Added birth stats and a photo!

Originally posted May 9th: Actor Greg Vaughan, 33, (General Hospital, Charmed, and as I remember him, Cliff on 90210!) and his wife, Dutch model and actress Touriya Haoud, 29, are new parents after welcoming son Jathan James on Friday, May 4th at 4:17 pm. Jathan weighed in at 8 lbs and is 21 inches long. Of the birth, Greg said,

Both Touriya and I have been levitating since his birth! The first moment we had, all together as one, will foreverbe in my heart. We have truly been blessed!

Wow, that is a new name, but I’m sure he’s gorgeous! This is pretty fun though, because May 4th, was the day that Greg’s onscreen wife gave birth too…though in that case, the baby’s not really his. Haha…but congrats to Greg and his wife! They must be beaming, and I bet Greg’s onscreen time with the new Webber-Spencer/Morgan baby has helped him prepare for fatherhood, though I’m sure he’s still got lots of surprises ahead.

I remember thinking when I heard that Greg Vaughan’s wife was pregnant that he wouldn’t have a baby on the show, but at least he’d have one in real life. Congrats to them!

I looked up the name Jathan – it looks like it’s a form of the name Nathan. Maybe the Dutch form, since she’s Dutch?

Never heard that one before! My brother’s name is Nathan James, but he is 27…Nathan was a very different name back then, now it is suddenly popular. Maybe this is the start of a new trendy name.

Jathan is not a Dutch name, I have never heard it before.
He was born on the Dutch memorial day, I hope this doesn’t make his birthdays sad.

I actually like the name they gave their son. It’s different and not one you’ve heard on a daily basis, but not one of those far out ones.

I’m sure his son is going to be a heartbreaker.

As sweet as Greg is with the kids he has on GH, I’m sure he’ll be just as great with his own son now. ♥

I’m sure Greg & Touriya’s little boy is absolutely gorgeous!

I love Greg on General Hospital! And in an interesting coincidence…Elizabeth gave birth to Greg’s on-screen son on May 4th, too (or at least, the baby he thinks is his son).

Regardless, I’m sure Greg will make a great dad. Congrats to the couple!

JATHAN

So is it pronounced JAY-than? I know Johann would be YO-han, so is it YAY-than? Or YAY-ton? I agree, Jathan sounds like Jason with a lisp. I don’t like it.

congratulations to both greg and his wife. i dont care how you pronounce the name, its still unique and manly sounding. couldnt be any worse than suri or shiloh or nick cages sons name.
you missed one though, i remember greg on charmed, 90210, general hospital, but he also played deigo, the coffee house employee that sharon cheated on nick with on young and the restless!!!!!

That’s funny. My sons name is also Jathan and he was born on 2/8/1998 and he also weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 inches long. Best wishes and lots of love, to the both of you and Jathan.
