Rumor: Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis to wed after Lily-Rose's health scare

Johnny Depp and his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis are reportedlyplanning summer nuptials, according to The Daily Mail. The couple,together nine years, feel compelled to tie the knot after enduringtheir nearly 8-year-old daughter Lily-Rose‘s recent battle with an E.coli infection, a source says.

Johnny and Vanessa have one of the strongest relationships inHollywood but after their daughter was taken ill the family became aneven closer-knit unit. They have talked about marriage on and off for a long time butthe recent emotional roller-coaster they have had to endure seems tohave spurred them into action.

The wedding will supposedly be in an ancient chapel in their French village of Plan de la Tour. Florence Lanliard, the mayor of Plan de la Tour, declined to comment asto whether not the two, per French law, have sought consent from thegovernment to marry.

We never discuss personal issues. We will not make any comment about Johnny Depp or Vanessa Paradis.

Johnny and Vanessa also have a son, Jack, 5.

Tabloids are always saying they are going to get married this summer. They said this even before Lily got sick. If they wanted to get married all this time they would have already but I think they are happily unmarried so tabloids should stay out of it. But in a way I am glad tabloids are writing that they are inlove and getting married because tabloids usually write horrible lies like breaking up and cheating rumors.

Sophie: From what I’ve read, the E-coli Infection was caused by Lily-Rose stepping on a rusty nail, so yes, it was a rusty nail. I know it’s usually Tetanus that is assocatied with rusty nails, but other bacteria like E-coli can also be contracted by stepping on one.

Lola: I agree with you 100 percent! I read an interview of Johnny’s not too long ago where he specifically stated that he and Vanessa don’t feel that they “need a piece of paper to make their love offical”. I also read elsewhere that they are in fact so happily unmarried, they actually consider each other husband and wife even though they aren’t actually married. In otherwords, it is pretty clear that they do not feel like they need to marry in order to make their love valid. I wish the tabloids would stop trying to marry them all the time. I mean, what is the big deal about them not being married? The tabloids seem to think that it is some kind of horrible thing or something.

KarenC: Johnny and Vanessa have been together for at least eight years (I think Lily-Rose turns eight this year), probably even more than that. That and the fact that they seem to be crazy about each other makes me think that nobody needs to worry about them breaking up anytime soon, whether they are married or not.

I totally agree, augustmoon. I am so tired of people saying that marriage is just a piece of paper that means nothing. They really don’t have any idea what they’re talking about. Then again, how could they if they’re not willing to make the commitment to marriage in the first place?

And whether people want to believe it or not, a couple is more likely to stay together if they are married, and couples who live together before marriage are far more likely to divorce than those who don’t. That’s reality.

I think it is aboute time Johnny and Vanessa get married. And I have to say this: I think that reporters usually talk more aboute Lilly-Rose. Sometimes they don˙t even mention Jack.

I think that we as a society make way too much out of celebrities. They are only everyday people who work in the movie industry. They create some wonderful characters for us to keep alive in our need for entertainment; but that’s it. We should not be prying into actors lives for our own curiosity. There needs to be limits on what we have a right to know about someone’s personal life. Johnny has stated numerous times that he wants to live normal. He has that right just like the rest of us do. We should only be interested in these people’s acting ability and that’s it. The rest is wrong and hurtful on society’s part. Johnny and Vanessa have beautiful children, but are all children beautiful no matter who their parents may be? I very partial to seeing my own children as absolute treasures of this world.
