A note on articles

Question_mark_winceWe’ve gotten a few emails, comments on posts, and responses on the survey that indicate that some readers are under the impression that we are publishing stories multiple times or pulling quotes from the same interview to make numerous posts, and we just want to take a minute to explain what’s actually happening.

Celebs like Tobey Maguire, Keri Russell, and Bryce Dallas Howard are currently promoting their new movies, so they’re making the press rounds — and since they just had babies (or will be soon), there’s a lot of talk about them! Since we strive to include all the content we can on CBB, we type up the highlights from both television and print interviews, and they often will appear on the site the same day, although they are not the same stories or appearances. We try to mix up the photos we illustrate the stories with, but we understand that they do repeat themselves quite often and that readers may confuse a new post with a story they’ve already read.

If a story is, for whatever reason, published and then bumped back up to the top of the page, it will always be clearly marked with Update: so you will be aware of the parts you may not have seen. We try to make CBB as all-inclusive as possible regarding news — including sports, royalty, soap stars, singers, film actors, etc  — so even if there is an extensive amount of news about a few celebrities one week, we hope you still find enough other content on the site to hold your interest.

Thanks for reading — we hope this makes things clearer.

While I didn’t send you any questions or comments on this I did wonder. Thanks for clearing that up.

Sarah? you tell them to mind their own business! Dont cave in and respond to peoples silly emails!

HEY YOU COMPLAINERS!
Leave them alone! Until you have to PAY to access this site, stop complaining about nonsensical BS! Its worse then the silly emails the chefs at the Food Network get about touching the food with their hands or banging the spoon on the bowl!

Stop! Just Stop!

If we are consistently noticing confusion from a number of readers on the same topic, we try to address it to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Any reason why you don’t state your sources? It would be good to know where these snippets are coming from, even if you just put the name of the newspaper and date, or the name of the tv show. I do have to agree I was beginning to believe you only have access to one headshot of Bryce, we’ve seen it so often ;) . Nice to get these up-to-date snippets though.

I’m confused by your comment. We always state our sources, except if it is an exclusive piece (which doesn’t apply to TV appearance or interview write-ups). If you do not see Source: at the bottom of the write up, in the course of the article, it will say, ‘While appearing on Jay Leno last evening…’ or whatever the show was, if there is not a news article to link to.

ah, don’t worry, my confusion. :)

I read CBB through its RSS feed at Bloglines. While I was not one of the first to comment on the issue of multiple postings, I will say it is extremely annoying to have the same post pop up 10 times in a day as a “new” post (no updates discernible, just the same story). It’s gotten to the point now where I just check the feed a couple of times a week to avoid the issue.

Yes, people who read through RSS have things pop up double and triple times, which we’re trying to correct. This was more about people thinking different articles are the same — but we’ve definitely been made aware of the BlogLines issue! Thank you.

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
