Baby son tops off a great March for British Champion sprinter Jason Gardener!

After winning his fourth consecutive European Indoor 60km gold medal at the beginning of the month, British sprinter Jason Gardener has become a father for the second time.Jason’s wife Nancy gave birth to their 9lb 12oz son Harry on 13th March. The baby was not quite as speedy as his dad though, finally making his appearance nearly two weeks overdue! 

Harry’s late arrival was actually fortunate for Jason (if not for Nancy!) as the baby was originally due to be born right in the middle of the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham – this would have meant a 100-mile dash back to his native Bath in the south-west of England, and potentially missing the final and his chance for gold once again.
