Gavin Henson to attend pre-natal classes

Rugby player Gavin Henson is preparing for the birth of his first child with Charlotte Church by attending pre-natal classes with her, according to the singer’s mother Maria. Refuting rumors that Gavin was uneasy about the prospect of being a father after he was quoted as saying, "It’s crazy. I don’t really want to think about it at the moment," Maria insists that couldn’t be further from the truth and Gavin is excited for their new arrival.
Some comments Gavin made in banter before a match were taken out of context and implied he wasn’t that happy about being a dad – that’s nonsense. He’s 110% delighted and it’s terrible for people to suggest otherwise. Gavin has been very protective over Charlotte recently. I think he will be a fabulous dad. He has a very gentle and calm character and those are good qualities for being a father. I can see him being very hands on – going to all the antenatal classes and being at the birth.
Charlotte is due in September.

Does anyone else find it odd that Charlotte’s mother has been babbling to the press nonstop ever since Charlotte announced her pregnancy? Charlotte and Gavin seem to have kept things very low key and private, but especially in the past month or so Maria has been talking about Charlotte’s pregnancy (quite defensively, I might add) more often than necessary. I’m sensing a little “stage mommy” syndrome.
