Princess Letizia in labour!
Princess Letizia was admitted in Ruber International Hospital to give birth to her second baby girl, as the Royal Household confirmed a few hours ago, just 15 minutes after the Princes arrived to the clinic. Letizia was taken to hospital by Prince Felipe and they entered the hospital through the main gate, where a number of journalists were waiting for their arrival since a week ago.
Letizia’s due date was two days ago, as Hola confirmed. A number of the most important Spanish newspapers published the information in their webpages within minutes due to the media obsession with the birth.
The Princes are apparently expecting to "let nature decide" and willtry to go for a natural birth rather than a C-section if that ispossible. Letizia had her first daughter, Leonor, by a C-section in anot-so-easy labour. It is also known that Her Majesty, Queen Sofia, isnow travelling from Moscow (where she attended the funeral of theworld-class violonchelista Rostropovich and good friend of the Queen)to Madrid to visit the family as soon as she arrives. The Princess’mother, Paloma Rocasolano, is also in the clinic already. It is alsoannounced that the Princess is not in suite number 10 (where she wasexpected to give birth and where Leonor was born) but in suite 17.Refreshments were also given to the journalists.
20 minutos also has a galleryshowing the car of the Princes arriving to the Hospital earlier todayand of the security measures and journalists at the Hospital.
More details on the birth of the new Princess to follow!
