UPPAbaby Stroller System: Cruise in Comfort and Style

Pc_0009_04

The UPPAbaby Vista is a hot new stroller system that is one blissful ride! A reversible seat stroller, you’ll love the hip colors (we reviewed the "Carlin", which is charcoal gray and green) and the included bassinet for those early months with baby.

I knew I would love the UPPAbaby Vista stroller when it took me about 5 minutes to put together. I also thought it was gorgeous and and my son got so excited when he knew we were going to test it out. My then 17-month-old son loved the sleek ride and I adored the one-handed effortless push.  I loved the adjustable handle and huge storage basket. When I took it to Macy’s in NYC, we fit a huge bag of baby clothes, blankets and a set of flatware, with room to spare!

The UPPAbaby Vista performed beautifully on the snowy and icy streets of NYC – I knew we weren’t getting stuck anywhere! With the Vista, I smoothly glided over broken sidewalks that would have hobbled my regular stroller. This is the SUV of strollers, not a compact ride that will fit down narrow store aisles. It is also not for subways, or quick trips in and out of the car.

Img_0335_1_5But If you walk a lot with your baby, especially on bumpy streets, you’re going to delight in the Vista. The reversible seat has three easily changeable settings (from upright to reclining) and the footrest easily extends up and down – so your little cutie can be comfortable, awake or asleep. I found it easy to change the seat to the bassinet. A plus: the stroller folds with the seat on or off!

Product_0009_10 The bassinet is cushy and comfortable. Storage room on the side of it was a plus! I could see a newborn being comfortable and cozy in this plush bassinet!  Whenever we are fortunate enough to have another baby, I could see using this bassinet even when are at home (I liked it so much).

Car Seat attachments are now available. Weathershield for the bassinet, raincover and bug netting are also included.

The stroller did take me a while to learn how to fold (yet my husband could do it very easily). The company was helpful and suggested "that the key was to first get comfortable with extending and retracting the handle. Then simply press the button to the left while the handle is fully extended and retract firmly." I could probably close it in my sleep now (I got good at it).

Celebrities who are currently enjoying the Vista system are Brooke Burke, Mariska Hargitay, Brooke Shields, Michelle Williams and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

We looked closely at the UppaBaby – really liked it – but in the end decided to go with the new Quinny Buzz which just arrived in the US.

Bit of a smoother ride, smaller footprint, cheaper price, and we had no need for the bassinet.

We’ve got a video demo here:

That Quinny thing is really not all its cracked up to be. I looked at it but bought the uppababy instead. The unfold mechanism on the Quinny may be automatic but you have to wait for it – which I don’t really have time for with three kids. Speaking of, with the Quinny there is almost NO storage basket AND you have to pay $200 more for a bassinet which comes separately. Uppa baby comes with one which is SOOOO nice. I love, love, love my uppa baby stroller.

Note that the 2008 UPPAbaby Vista is 2.5 inches narrower than the prior model, due to redesigned rear wheels. Overall width is now just over 24 inches.

I noticed that all of the offers are expired. Are there any current ones? Thanks.

"Harper was a name that we've loved for a long time for a couple of reasons. Harper is an old English name, and Victoria's favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird."
