Tori Spelling on her fur babies

We all know how much Tori Spelling, 33, loves her son Liam Aaron, 6 weeks. But before Liam, she had another baby to love – her pug, Mimi La Rue. In fact, she and husband Dean McDermott‘s B&B, Chateau La Rue, is named after her. Tori talked to Oprah today about the adjustment from her dog baby to a real one.

Everyone told me, because I was so crazy and obsessed with Mimi, theysaid, ‘Once you have a child, you’ll realize that a dog is just a dog.’And now that I have a child, I mean, there’s no other love like thelove I feel for my child. But she is still not a dog. I still think of her as my second baby.

Tori hopes Liam will inherit the same puppy love she has.

I always had pets growing up and it made a huge difference. I’m excited for him to have little furry friends around that he canlove and they’ll love him.

In addition to Mimi La Rue, Tori and Dean also have Ferris and Chiquita. Dean describes their babies as such:

Our family is three parts fur, one part skin. Three of them are barkers, and one’s a pooper.

Definitely. Before I had kids, my cats were like my children. I took them on car rides, took tons of photos of them, and even had a picture of them on my desk at work! I still adore my cats, but having children put things into perspective. I now have a picture of the kids on my desk.

I have a 16 month old son and two Pugs – my pugs are loved and adored just as much now as before he arrived. Sometimes I have some guilt about not spending as much one-on-one time with them as I did before. Now that my son is in his toddler stage I can really tell that he loves his “pup-pups”. Every morning when he wakes up one of his first questions is either “where’s winnie?” or “where’s lulu?”. So cute

Yes, I have a dog I’m obsessed with and I’m 8 months pregnant. He is a big gentle dog, but desperate for attention. At the moment I’m determined to share my time between the two- my dog and my yet to be born daughter- because I would feel so guilty otherwise! My husband is going to help me because we wouldn’t want him to feel left out. I can’t wait until my daughter can share our love with him.
