Larry Birkhead on being a new dad, his possible future battles in court and getting to know his little girl
Larry Birkhead is learning as he goes with his new role as Dad to baby Dannielynn, 7 months. In an interview with the current issue of OK! Magazine, Larry talks about everything from Dannielynn’s long legs, to the potential custody battle with Virgie Arthur that lies ahead. We posted the photos and highlights earlier this week – here’s more.
When asked about what he thought regarding Virgie wanting to share custody, Larry said,
I don’t know what she wants. If she wants to be a grandmother, that’s fine. I have a mother that wants to be a grandmother and she’s not asking for all these things, so it’s kind of puzzling. I just want to take my daughter home and start a life with her. I already went through a battle to prove that she was mine, and now here we go with possibly another battle.
Meanwhile, Larry is spending as much time with Dannielynn as he can, and getting to know her better and better as time goes on.
She has her mom’s [Anna Nicole Smith's] long legs and she’s just beautiful. She likes me to make funny faces, funny noises and do silly voices for her. It’s so rewarding. As long as she’s happy, you don’t care what it is. It’s the little things that mean the most to me: the way she looks at me when I do something for her that she really likes.
He also shared his confidence in being able to handle the road ahead.
It’s [a road] that I’m definitely going to be able to handle. My sisters have babies and have been great. Even Howard K. Stern has been helpful.
And what about his new apparent friendship with Howard? Larry had this to say:
I’m thankful that everyone can get along for Dannielynn. How could you not? She’s so sweet and so cute, arguing is just going to hurt her and not help us any.
