Preparing for the arrival of the Princess

The Spanish Press is already preparing for the imminent birth of the Spanish Princess, due in between one and two weeks. The stations have already secured their positions in front of the entrance of the Ruber Hospital, where Princess Letizia will give birth, and a platform and several toilets were installed in the outside of the hospital for the press’ use. An internal tent will also be installed inside the hospital for the Prince to announce the birth and give a brief press conference. It was said that in 2005, the hospital waited until the last minute to arrange the tent, and therefore it had to be prepared on the same day Letizia was taken to hospital for the birth of their first daughter, Leonor, now 17 months.

Policemen and security agents from the Palace are also supervising the hospital, including sewers and entrances. Letizia is supposed to be giving birth in a private suite of the hospital, which will vacate the other adjacent rooms in the hospital wing for the use of the Royal Family and their visitors.

Photos of the preparations available at El Mundo.
