Leah Remini's post-baby diet

The King of Queens star Leah Remini famously gained 80 lbs during her pregnancy with daughter Sofia Bella, 3 in June, and has been outspoken about her struggle to lose the weight. Leah tells TV Guide the more-than-extra pounds were a result of a poor pregnancy diet, where she "ate like a pig" for nine months.

I just ate like crap. I ate anything and everything. I went back to mychildhood. I’d eat a whole box of mac and cheese, McDonald’s, Frenchtoast. I’d say, ‘I don’t eat it. My baby eats it.’ But I went on agreat diet.

The actress initially went on Jenny Craig and followed up with the 1st Personal Diet.

It’s determined by the metabolic rate of your blood, and then they sendyou a diet on your e-mail. I was trying everything else. I did JennyCraig and lost 10 pounds, but I couldn’t get rid of the other 40. Andthis did it in six weeks.

Leah also says parenthood has put things into perspective for her, as it has also done for co-star Kevin James, who has a daughter Sienna-Marie, 18 1/2 months, and is expecting another girl in July.

When Kevin had his daughter, we lightened up.We used to obsess about the most ridiculous things, like, ‘Why can’t wehave sesame bagels?’ And since we’ve had the babies, we appreciate whatwe have.

Sofia looks so much like Leah! Sofia will hopefully be seeing her mom more often when King of Queens ends after this season. I hate to see the show go, but Sofia needs Leah more than her viewers do.

How can you lose 40lbs in 6 weeks? Am I misunderstanding her or is she just completely full of it? That’s impossible!!

You know Leah did her thang. She got on a diet that works for her and she lost the weight. I commend her for doing it and becoming a wonderful mother. She didn’t have to lose anything but she wanted to be comfortable with herself.
If you are determined you can lose 40lbs in 6 weeks but not everyone has the same body type or determination to lose weight like that. Don’t be hatin! Focus on yourself.
