Kurt Russell loves Ryder Robinson to death

Grindhouse star Kurt Russell says being a grandfather to Kate Hudson‘s son, Ryder Russell Robinson, 3, is "cool" and often doesn’t even think about the fact that he is one.

It feels great. To be honest with you, I don’t think about it. He’s a great little kid. He’s my step-daughter/daughter’s little boy and he’s got my name. I love him to death. He’s a blast. It’s great.

Kurt saw Ryder for the first time in a few months since he was on location in Australia with Kate. Still close with their former son-in-law, Chris Robinson, Kurt and Goldie Hawn visited their grandson at his dad’s place.

He’s just back from Australia. Kate was working on a movie in Australia and she just got back yesterday and so we actually had supper last night with Ryder and Chris. We [went] over to Chris’ house. Just me and Goldie and Ryder and Chris. It was really fun and it was really good to see him.

As for his own son, Wyatt, 20, the actor says he’s currently plotting his hockey and academic careers, both of which Kurt is extremely proud of.

He’s a hockey player. It looks like he’s just about to figure out which college [he] wants to play at next year. He has an opportunity to play pro hockey but he’s decided he wants to play college hockey. So he’s gonna do that for a couple years and he’s also going to concentrate on music. And what I’m really excited about is that he’s going to USC Film School this summer.
