Elisabeth Hasselbeck celebrates daughter and husband's birthdays in Barbados

Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to ABC’s The View on Monday from her week-long vacation with hubby Tim Hasselbeck and daughter Grace Elisabeth, 2, in Barbados. While telling viewers of her trip, Elisabeth talked about how Grace and Tim share the same , April 6th, and how celebrating on the beach was a ‘complete blast.’ Although, she did explain how she came to the realization that once kids come along, there is no more sun bathing!

All the time is spent with the baby, under the umbrella. I came back from vacation pale!

Elisabeth also had a suggestion for anyone traveling with a baby.

Someone suggested to me to get a powder prescription of antibiotics to take with us just in case, that way in case anything happens, you just shake it up and you’re set.

Grace has sure become quite the little traveler in her two short years. Just in the last few months on The View, Elisabeth has talked about the family’s travels to Walt Disney World in Florida, Seattle (to visit Tim’s family) and now Barbados. Grace is a lucky little girl!

How have your vacations changed since starting a family?

I remember when i only had one carry one and I had my laptop and we would relax when we go on vacation. Now, having two kids(3 & 11months), we need a vacation from our vacation!

I don’t think our vacations have changed that much and they are even more fun. We’ve taken the kids (ages 3 1/2 and 6 1/2) on 4 cruises, California (we live in Atlanta), Denver, all over Florida (including Walt Disney World) and the rest of the Southeast. They love the whole process and have a great time. I think travel is essential to raising a person who is interested in the well-being of the world and their fellow man.
I think the more you travel, the more your kids get used to it and the easier it gets.

My baby has been to Europe three times, Florida twice, and New Orleans….and he’s not even 15 months yet. It does NOT get easier for everybody. I think some kids are good travellers and some kids aren’t. I believe it has a lot to do with their dispositions – if you have a child who can sleep through everything and doesn’t have strange food requests, you’re going to have a great time. If your baby is a bad flier, terrible napper and only eats food that is a certain consistency, it’s going to be a little harder. I’m hoping my son gets better with age, but so far he’s a challenge!

To me, it doesn’t sound like Grace Hasselback is so bad :>

Vacation??? I have fond memories of such things. They took place before I decided to leave my job of 20 years to focus on motherhood at the age of 41. What a trip it was from the boardroom to the nursery. Now with a 14 yo I’m on my way to the funny farm. LOL
